Coinshooter he/him
I was told to introduce myself to the forums here, so here I am. Doing that thing. Introducing myself. I am, obviously, a Brandon Sanderson fan, and I'm caught up on all of his cosmere-centered works, except for pretty much every novella except for Emperor's Soul (I'm currently re-reading the Mistborn series to get even more psyched up for the upcoming releases at the end of this year and the beginning of next (I'm not sure if he does his release signings at the BYU bookstore, but I really hope he does because guess where I'm studying (BYU, if I didn't make that obvious enough)). Mistborn is my favorite series of his, though Kaladin is my favorite character out of all the books. I'm studying computer science, and I have a website where I write and publish a comic called Planeswept. I also play Magic: The Gathering, Pokemon, StarCraft, and Minecraft. I speak Spanish. I'm also ChullRider's eldest brother, for those of you that know him or are aware of his existence. And that was me, doing that thing that the forum told me to do. Now it's off to fill my copperminds with valuable Cosmere theories that I hope I'll actually be able to remember. And maybe figure out what Hoid's up to. Maybe.
Blaze1616 he/him
Hello and welcome to the forums! If you could have any one power from the Cosmere, what would it be? I'd want a collection of Breath and be able to Awaken, personally.
Coinshooter he/him
Hello and welcome to the forums! If you could have any one power from the Cosmere, what would it be? I'd want a collection of Breath and be able to Awaken, personally. Hmm... well, I'd probably have to choose to be a Windrunner or a Coinshot. Mostly because those abilities would allow me to "fly," and there have been many, many, many times when I thought to myself, "I wish I could Lash my way to X/Steelpush over to Y." Yes, there are other advantages to each (I lost my car keys... oh wait, burn some steel and there they are!/Lash all the things I need to take to each other and then Lash them to me, and I've still got my hands to carry more things), but the psuedo-flying's definitely the best. Though I bet Awakening could be used to make a magic carpet... Also, do I just go to the theories section for theories about as-of-yet unreleased books, or is there a specific section for that?
Blaze1616 he/him
Theories in general are dealt in the Cosmere Theories forum. No spoiler tags are necessary, and all of Brandon's titles are fair game. If you're wanting to discuss a specific book or series, you could also go to that book's/series's forum and post there. Remember that if you're mentioning a book or series in a forum which they don't belong, though, to use spoilers (ex: mentioning Warbreaker in the Mistborn forum). Spoilers are achieved as such: (spoiler) This is spoiler content (/spoiler) Replace the Parenthesis with Brackets ( ) -> [ ] like so: This is spoiler content
Coinshooter he/him
Thank you! When I have time later today, I'm going to have to look for a thread, because I've got an interesting idea for Shadows of Self, which is all based on what we've seen in the preview of the second chapter.
Blaze1616 he/him
Shadows of Self has a sub-forum within the Mistborn forum. That's as good a place as any.
ChullRider he/him
I was told to introduce myself to the forums here, so here I am. Doing that thing. Introducing myself. Out of curiosity, where did you find the profile icon? Also, you might want to post that theory of the shardplate-oaths thing. I think you know what I'm talking about. Right? And, as I may have already told you, a good place to get upvotes is Sanderson memes! Why, before my vacation, my reputation was somewhere around 220, but now, it's about 310! I'm blaming Sanderson memes for this amazing gift. Edited July 9, 2015 by ChullRider
Titan Arum
Also, do I just go to the theories section for theories about as-of-yet unreleased books, or is there a specific section for that? Welcome to the 17th Shard! Just as a note, you can talk about works that are coming out soon, such as Shadows of Self, in the appropriate sections of the forum for these books. However, there are some unpublished books that fans have read and can get from Brandon that you are not allowed to talk about in the public forums. These books specifically are White Sand, The Liar of Partinel, and for the lucky few affiliated with BYU who've gotten their hands on Dragonsteel. If you'd like to talk about these books (assuming that you've read them), there is a private forum for them (but maybe not for Dragonsteel). Ask a mod for an invite.
Coinshooter he/him
Thanks for the all the information! I'm going to be referring to this place over and over again - and now I understand why they have us do this thing. Also, ChullRider - I made my icon, but earlier today I found out that I used the iron symbol instead of the steel one, so now I've got to fix that up. Derp.

Did you use Photoshop or Illustrator to make it? Or something else? Oh yeah. If somebody offers you cookies, don't take them. I've heard they're high in metal content. Not really sure what that does to you, probably because I haven't finished HoA yet, but yeah. Don't take them. Like in the way Shardblades are good for the soul, breath is good for the soul, or in the way Hemalurgy's good for the soul? Coinshooter he/him
Well... we'll have to see how Hemalurgy evolves over the course of time before I accept these "cookies." But I'm excited to be here - finally, I can talk with plenty of Sanderson-obsessed people like me (that actually want to talk about Sanderson. Most the people I know are like, "meh").
