I would still call someone who gained an Allomantic power through Hemalurgy a Misting, personally. This is perhaps just a semantics argument, but I don't know what else you'd call such a person.

The problem is that Hemalurgy recipients can have more than one power, in which case calling them a Misting anything can be misleading. If Bloody Tan was, say, a Brass misting who hemalurgically gained the ability to burn atium, replying 'yes' to the question of him being an atium misting would be like denying he can burn brass... (I don't think he burns atium, though.)

He'll be a brass misting and an atium misting then.

It makes as much sense as a description like Elantrian Dahkor-user (yeah, chances of getting one of those is pretty slim without a lot of spiking and other gory stuff) or lightweaver with edgedancer abilities (honorblades ahoy).

Perhaps Bloody Tan was not an Atium Misting, but rather a Mistborn.

Well, after reading chapter 2 of the new mistborn book,

it appears that Bloody Tan is still alive...  Since it was established that Wax shot him in the head, do we need to assume that he is either a gold ferring, or has a spike to give him that power?  Is there any other way he could still be alive?

It it still not confirmed he is still alive. It could be Wax's PTSD. It's something to think about though.

Oops, double post. Sorry! More Bands of Mourning spoiler below:

Or it could be a Kandra like WeiryWriter suggested.

Natural mistborn don't actually exist though, and the bloodlines that have enough power left in their dna to sire one seem to have run dry now.

Which leaves spiking. Except atium mistings don't exist anymore.
