I had some ideas, but I am definitely open to suggestions! What did you have in mind??

I don't know...maybe you should make It so no one believes in her "True Love's Kiss" Power, believing It to be líes she made up, and don't pay much attention to her or to any prince that comes to town. Then, when she actually kisses a prince, everyone's powers would be disabled and stuff, Causing masas chaos all over the city, with the queens being hunted down by the people and trying to stay alive, and other people just going on random rampages. Heck, maybe you should make It so Gunsmoke and Malevolence's whole connection to Obliteration thing makes him come to town a day after the True Love's Kiss Power came into effect. Then he would be pretty much the only High Epic in Corvallis and he would then start burning stuff and reciting Bible verses and happily humming religious songs as he murders everyone.

I just think It would be funny to see how the queens would react to find that their powers didn't work.

Also, Question.

If Chase were to die, would all the vanillas she has established a connection with also die? Because if that were the case, i feel she should be the last one Obliteration kills, (assuming he kills everyone) i keep imagining in my head the perfect sad ending for Corvallis.

The red sky overhead, the birds flying away. The city a complete chaos with debris everywhere, Rainmaker in the middle of a street, bleeding, paralyzed, unable to move, to do anything for her Kingdom, Bubble Blossom and Butterscotch long since dead.

Vanillas running away everywhere, some of them in a state of shock, paralyzed, just as Rainmaker is, waiting for death.

Then they hear a scream. Its Chase, on top of a High building, with Obliteration. He is holding her by her shirt with one hand, his sword in other.

It's cold metal seems to shine in the dying lights of the day. He strikes like the snake he is. Quick and Mortal. He stabs her stomach, and blood can be seen dripping away from her, Even from the long distance Rainmaker finds herself. She stares at the remaining queen for what seems like ages, until all resistance is swept away from her, and her head drops, her arms turn lifeless, and Rainmaker knows she is dead.

[insert Random Bible reference to the end of the world or random babbling about slaying epics or something from Obliterations part]

Then the connection she had established with all the vanillas broke. Slowly, each of them died. It happened quickly, but slowly enough for Rainmaker to appreciate. One vanilla who was running by her simply collapsed to the floor, his head hitting the concrete hard. Blood dripping from his mouth.

Another one who was lying by the corpse of presumably a loved one, just close her eyes, and fell back, allowing death to take her.

Thousands of vanillas who had taken shelter in High buildings had the same faith. Many of them who were standing by a window or balcony fell to the streets below. The end had come for Corvallis, and there was nothing no one could do about It.

[insert another Bible reference about the end of the world or something like that from Obliteration]

On the Third day of Princess Good's curse, Rainmaker died, moments away from obtaining her powers. She died to the sound of the fire crackling and to the sound of corpses hitting the streets everywhere. She died to the sounds of fire and to a very unusual and macabre rain.

Moments away from dying though, she shed a single tear as she thought of how her perfect paradise had been reduced to nothingness.

The bodies continued to rain afterwards, and the fire kept crackling.

So, yeah, i think all Oregon NEEDS to be reduced to complete nothingness, oh, and the epics need to all die Either a nightmare inducing horrible death, [Nighthound] or an incredibly sad, heart breaking one [Funtimes]

Now just to spread news of Nighthound's Nighthoundness across the forum, to get more people to sign our petition.

About what I suspected. :P Where might one find a certain Autumn Glass?

A bit of both. He'd have only one person on his friend's list--MV, though she'd continually insist that she clicked the button on accident and just couldn't be bothered to remove him. :P

Show them his latest post and they'll sign.

Consoling people on the Bad Day thread, usually, though she might join a few threads in Social Groups, and maybe start an AMA.

Sounds about right. Where would Lightwards post?

Yeah. In fact, let's start another petition just to make sure C4's dress stays on.

She'd be good at that. Would she be friends with Scribbler and Edgerunner? Would she have Deathwish on "Ignore"?

On the Good News thread every now and then to boast about the progress the Empire is making. A few stops on the Religions topic, beginning with contemptuous remarks at all the religious people on it but eventually degrading to ranting about the tyranny of Death and demanding that people willingly resign themselves into his service. And of course, there'd be plenty of journeys to various member profiles to downvote everything Funtimes and Lucentia ever posted.

Oh, and occasionally he'd complain that nobody asked questions on his AMA, ignoring the fact that they only avoided it because he had the habit of calling people imbeciles whenever they asked him anything. :P

Yes. Idea. Good. This one. :o

Yes to both questions. In fact, if she could put him on double ignore, she'd do that. But she'd also chide Scribbler and Edgerunner when they boasted about downvoting him. She wouldn't have Arsenal on ignore, but she'd do her best to avoid him anyway--and she'd make a point out of writing nice, encouraging things on Vapor Snake's statuses.

So he'd basically attempt to start a new religion, and downvote anyone who didn't convert. Yeah, sounds like him. :P Would he demand that "Pro-Vanquisher of Deathanism" be added to the poll as an option?

Her finger slipped when she tried to downvote him, honest!

Motion carried.

So it sounds like Autumn would be one of the most popular people on the Oregon Shard just because of sheer niceness.:P Now, on the other end of the spectrum... what would Quota be doing? :o

Probably, but if I have a certain character understood like I think I do, he might have some rough competition from the Church of the Singularity. I imagine he might be pushed to create a new guild on the social section of the site, only to be enraged when the Jagers hijack it and Funtimes starts posting never-ending pictures of kittens and pugs. :P

Suuuuurrrre it did. :P

Downvoting anyone whose avatar he disliked or whose name made him laugh. He'd upvote people in the Bad Day thread, but then quote them and mock their complaints, like so:

Sharder: Today was the worst day this week. I went to visit my parents, who live in a suburb, and I drove exactly the speed limit. When I got there, my mom told me I was going too fast and told me a very graphic horror story about when she killed someone's cat by accident. Every time I tried to tell them about how I was having a hard time at work, they'd cut me off with another complaint about their garden or the HOA. When I left, they made sure to make me feel guilty for not calling them enough. I just want to move to another country so I won't have to visit them anymore. :(

Quota: Yeah, I remember being 15 too. LOL got any REAL problems?

Hopefully he'd get himself banned.

I for one would welcome a Singularity/Vanquisher flame war. What would Sam be doing for all this mayhem?

Weird. I seem to recall seeing Quota on Reddit and Youtube recently.

Here's a random trio of the topics Sam posted:

  • "Who wore it better--Lightwards or the Lucky Charms mascot?"
  • "How can I ignore a member's signature? I'm sick of reading Song of Songs again every time Obliteration posts."
  • "BREAKING NEWS: Deathwish is secretly made of motorcycle grease, cheap hair gel, and desperation."

Though in one of her less proud moments, she did complain about someone failing to include a trigger warning before posting a cupcake recipe. :P

Some of our characters need to become real just so they can join the Shard. Also is it just me or is the idea of Lightwards asking people to die willingly rather amusing?

So is it just the Mad Balooner post left to finish up for Portland for the night?

It's definitely the next thing needed after that I would still have to react at least once with Lucentia.

By the way, is this the right time to start a petition for which kind of sunglasses should replace Backtrack's old ones.

Posted (edited)

I'm not sure about Backtrack, but I nominate that Hypno start wearing them right away. :P

Look at my pendulum, now at my glasses now back at the pendelum. You are getting sleepy, look at my glasses, now back at the pendulum. You'll fall asleep once I count to three. One, look at my glasses, two, back to the pendulum, three and you're asleep.

That could work, yes. For Backtrack, maybe he'll try way to hard to be cool and wear these.

For me, it's a toss up between these:

And these:

(Yes they both flip open.)

Ah Backtrack, lets do the sunglasses flip! :P Clearly the ones with the ribbons would fit him best.

I also just asked another question on the AMA, because why not.

We have seen that Epics have a compulsion to pick a name for themselves (and have been told that some apparently have very bad taste) but is there also some kind of compulsion for them to be at least somewhat appropriate or for example could Nightwielder also have called himself Sunshine Shimmer (if he had bad taste)? And on a similar note, about when does this need start to manifest itself.

Which brings up a very important question: Are his powers strong enough to keep people from laughing?  :P

Not if I can get Sam in town quickly enough. :P

A Command, yes. If it's one person to about eight. More than that and it'll be very hard. They'll have a grin slip by or a small chuckle. If he's trying it on a whole group, it won't do much at all.
