Categorization Edits

So I've noticed that in the last few days someone has started working on changing flora and fauna to life forms. I had some questions about this. Are changes of that level OK for none admins, More to the point how much am I permited to refine a category. I'm Sticking to working on Magic Systems and entities for the most part. I would how ever like to see the magic category have Cosmere and non Cosmere Magic sub-categories. I would also like to make those pages easier to navigate and find that information.

 

 

Is their a method for requesting admins to do something like have a page be moved from the user: pages to the main wiki? Do I just add a move tag to the top? What about having a page reviewed to be removed from the stubs category?

Talking to us is a good way of getting things done, and talking about stuff you want doing works too. The flora&fauna => lifeforms change is completed and was done by the five admins, but if you want some kind of difference in the category system now is the time to speak up since we're planning to overhaul it in the near future. I can maybe provide you a page which only includes cosmere magics, but it might also be feasable to do what you suggest, though we'd probably just have a 'cosmere magic' or something to do with investiture as the name, and then leave the rest of the magics in the magic category. Mentioning the articles you want reviewing in the article workshop is the best way to bring them to our attention, and we will generally take a look at everything you do and tweak the tags appropriately.

So the whole lifeform switch thing was a decision made by the admins during a very... lengthy conversation about categorization and stuff.  Something that big really is up to the admins.  You can always propose a change and we will discuss whether we think it is a good idea.  (If you want to do a write-up on how to change the magic categorization stuff by next weekend we actually are planning on having a staff meeting)

 

If you want an admin's attention on something you can always just put a note in the edit description.  Or you can always PM me or one of the other admins (Chaos, Joe ST, Windrunner, KalynaAnne).  Your Bonds page is something we need to discuss so just be aware of that.

I figured that the lifeforms change category pages was something the admins did. As for the magics category I will spend some time this week learning more about the system and see if maybe it was just me. I do like the idea of a Investiture systems(or something like that) category and a non Cosmere magics category.

 

As for my Bonds page I would love to discuss that* but I suspect you meant that the Admins need to discuss and see if it should go in the Coppermind. I worked hard on it and hope you all think it is relevant to the wiki of not I understand.

 

The edit description I had not thought about as being a good way to bring something to your attention I will do that.
