It is highly unusual--as in, simply not done--to open up a new thread without talking it over with other players a bit first. I'm not saying you need to take it down, as that is solely Twi's realm of judgment, but it'd be greatly appreciated if you would consult with us a bit before starting new game threads. Thanks.

I think the first question is, why did you want to start a new game thread? I'm definitely not averse to opening up new cities, but the rationale for opening them is good to know. And it's better to present the question to other players before the thread is opened to ensure there are enough players interested in joining to sustain it. I haven't read the post yet, which I will as soon as I can, but since this game concerns the destruction of Oregon, I would like to keep the cities in Oregon. Boise isn't too far from the border, but a suggestion to open up Dallesport, WA was rejected before, so I think it's better to keep things within Oregon's borders.

Seriously, it's totally fine. Which city will your character head towards? Corvallis, Astoria, or The Dalles?
Blackhoof Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 Up to the individuals, collab posts sometimes get too long and I'm guilty of skipping them occasionally but for fight scenes they're somewhat necessary. Personally my favourite fight scene to write (Deathwish vs. Impact) was done with some discussion in PM but mostly we just each wrote a segment and then let the other respond. fair enough, I like this way too. It only brings issues when we have complicated powers (as we found out during the Destructor fight) and we need to work out together how they work, but a PM should be fine, especially if we clear it all with the other player first. I'd join you in making ridiculous amounts of Epics, but I seem to struggle with picking weaknesses. me too Although if we did fights between Epics without PI's (or without perfect PI's, at least), then we could avoid the need for weaknesses. How do we want to do the Converter freeing? Which Epics do we want rescuing her? Phoenix and Iconoclast can both go for it, and Insight could free her very easily. We can work in that Insight is trying to take down Corvallis, and has given Phoenix and Iconoclast some nudges to destroy it - behind-the-scenes nudges like notes or messages. Insight could easily free Converter just by moving the restraints/Converter into his Cognitive space. Phoenix can supercharge Converter out of the prison as long as IcyHot wasn't there, and possibly if he is (Converter changing heat to electricity or kinetic energy). Iconoclast could sneak in and kill the guards with his hand turning to bone or something similar. Also, I want to get a Jumpdrive post in (could also use this to work Inhuman in as a field agent sent to check out something). Jumpdrive is probably monitoring the situation from a hidden base (filled with computer screens) via remote cameras on the guards or remote control helicopters, and will be analyzing the situation. After Converter escapes, which he will be watching, I think he will try and find Insight, Phoenix, Iconoclast and Converter (whichever participate in the freeing) and will get some new cameras in infrared or ultraviolet, energy emissions sensors, etc. Iconoclast would be happy to kill/ghoulify any guards in the way. Heck, once he hears about this Epic stuck in the field he will go there tomorrow for sure. ...Who is Insight? I think I may have missed/forgotten something... As for antagonistic plans, are you all working together? I knew Phoenix and Converter were going to help each other, but I haven't heard yet if Iconoclast would join. As far as rescuing goes, though, I'm not sure who all will be posted as guards. I think it makes logical sense for IcyHot and Resistor to do so, but I also don't want them to die just yet. I was also thinking Mannequin, given his unique ability to supply large amounts of guards, but I'm not sure what Gleeman's plans are. Iconoclast is willing to form loose, temporary alliances with other Epics, as long as their goal (short-term, at least) is to cause destruction and chaos. With IcyHot and Resistor, yeah, that will be an issue, because if they are there Icon has no reason not to rip their heads off haha but if you like, he can always only wound them in his haste? Or think he has killed them? Insight is the Epic Comatose created who kidnapped Euphoria (see his Epics of Oregon post). Phoenix was already going to help Converter, though mainly because Converter seemed to have the most destructive potential to the city. Iconoclast has not aided either before; I was merely suggesting that Insight could be manipulating Iconoclast and Phoenix into destroying Corvallis from behind-the-scenes (if Comatose is fine with that). trying to manipulate Iconoclast is like trying to control the way a fire burns down a building but he can try, at least haha As for the rescue, I'm thinking Insight tracks down Phoenix, leads him back to the field, and then phases Converter out of her chains, setting them free, and then watches what they do from there. My hope is that Phoenix and Converter can keep a low profile for a bit, and avoid attacking Rainmaker directly for a while, choosing instead to make attacks and destroy bits and pieces of the city and then vanish. Perhaps, once Converter is freed, and if she links up with both Phoenix and Iconoclast, they could stock up on supplies and ghouls and then eventually attack the power plant, where Converter could maximize her power. Then, they could hole up there in a base, forcing Rainmaker to lay siege. Just some ideas. I think I got to all the questions. I haven't read the Dalles thread yet, but I'm assuming Brandon is just hanging out trying not to be noticed as per usual. I like the idea of attacking the power plant to get heaps of power- that much power in one hit could cause a loooot of damage Although Iconoclast for one wouldn't hole up anywhere out in the open as a base. The other two might, but he will want to be free to move around and create ghoul massacres all over the city at will. My apologies. I have idea where to discuss this. Usually when a new player arrives, they tell us what their Epic idea is, and we discuss with them which city we/they think their Epic will fit best. So it sounds like your character is from Boise, and just decided to teleport to Oregon, right? That's cool, we can now just talk a bit about where you would want to teleport to (whether to the city itself, or to somewhere nearby and then go there). Then once we decide, you can move your post to the matching thread, and that can be your intro post.
