Edgedancer he/him Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 I'm thinking everything would basically work as normal but once their astral consciousness was killed they'd return to their body unharmed, although probably with lingering psychological pain. Then we still need a reason for the fights to happen, gladiators forced to fight, prestige, actual prizes, to settle differences, all of the above? 3
Voidus Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 Then we still need a reason for the fights to happen, gladiators forced to fight, prestige, actual prizes, to settle differences, all of the above? They feel like it would amuse a group of writers somewhere? I'd go with all of the above, it'd be a safe way to gauge your own strength as an Epic without risking your life so I think it could attract quite a few mid-high leveled Epics. 1

+Slowswift Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 (edited) So I was looking through old photos from a page I follow on Facebook... And... Twi? Happy Easter a month and a half late. Have some peggs. On another note, are there ever going to be new cities, or are we just doing these few? What... happens...when this RP... ends? Edited May 25, 2015 by Slowswift 2

We're actually just discussing possibly starting a new one We make another. The most noble of causes. With a few are we talking about 5 or 50? Depends how interested people are. I can make a few stock Epics that people can fight against or we can just pair people off, or do it tournament style.

On another note, are there ever going to be new cities, or are we just doing these few? What... happens...when this RP... ends? Funnily enough it seems like Voidus is about to start a new one. The thing with location is is that a given amount of players can only do that much but with the recent influx of new ones we just had a new place might make sense (and the Dalles is also starting to get crowded). So, we'll see. This RP will never end, first oregon, then Alaska, then Germany and finally Equestria! 3
+Slowswift Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 Oh.... kay then? Did any of you see the Doctor Who episode "Robot of Sherwood?" Because this This RP will never end, first oregon, then Alaska, then Germany and finally Equestria! reminded me of the scene with the sheriff. "First... Derby. And then... Lincoln. And then... THE WORLD!" 1
18th Shard he/him Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 Right, that one. Any ideas what exactly you want to do with him? I was going to have him work for the Queens in Corvallis, but now I'm thinking he would do better in Astoria, maybe as an ally of Azrael - he's an assassin who is very hard to stop, though not too OP as far as attacking others. He likes to slip in, kill his target, slip out. Jumpdrive can be a head of Information under Buttercup in Corvallis, monitoring video feeds from all over the city. He often goes on reconnaissance missions against any enemies nearby, collecting all information about them. He has an obsession to know everything, and goes to great lengths to uncover anything he doesn't understand, including downloading various textbooks and opening Wikipedia pages just to get as much info as possible. He has an AI named Locator in his head - a creation of his mind, Locator helps him keep track of the plethora of information he knows and to remember it quickly. We're actually just discussing possibly starting a new one We make another. And here we were arguing if Oregon didn't have enough Epics.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted May 25, 2015 Author Posted May 25, 2015 Can we get some GM feedback on the coliseum idea Twi? I'm good with it. I think it could provide an interesting plot for the city where it's located--players could write fight scenes with a low risk of actual death, but those perhaps forced to fight or given out as prizes for the victors could be plotting a rebellion. 2

Cool. Just need to decide on the town then, I originally planned for Bend but I think that's in some backstory. Salem maybe?

Salem maybe? Salem is more a city than a town, though that could be an advantage, what with ample room for storage and multiple abandoned homes to give out as prizes.
Voidus Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 Alrighty, I'll get to work doing some character and city planning as well as making up some potential gladiators and try to get it up with the next game day.

Right, what do we still need in every location? Portland: Wrapping up the MEE attacks. Dalles: MV and Backtrack getting back to Portland and Shiny Sparkle getting yelled at by Vondra. (Senoid hasn't said anything about team Paladin engaging her since I asked him a couple days ago, so I suppose she's free to return to the office, Kobold, Twi what do you say?) and Arsenal inspecting the new Epics in the clinic. Astoria: Some wrap up on my end and Winterspell dealing with Dustdevil. Corvallis: Ending the Converter fight. Anything I missed? 2

Don't forget shipping fuel for Vapor Snake.
Voidus Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 I'm just waiting on Mail mi to finish up with Timeport before I skip to the MoNA attack, might just do it anyway and have a slight continuity problem though if he's not feeling up to it.Other than that that all looks right.

I'll work on that after my next Astoria post then. Are we still doing that this game day or the next one? Other than that that all looks right. Yeah having the timelines not sinc up 100% won't hurt anyone. I for example are probably still going to do a wrap up post for Voidgaze even if tecnically the attack on the MoNa is already later in the timeline.

I think it would make sense either way—Vondra sends Autumn to talk to Vapor while he talks things over with Shiny Sparkle, or she's sent in first thing in the morning. Depends on how quickly we want to wrap up this game day, I suppose.

Kobold, what do you think, would it make more sense for Vondra to send her to him now or would he want Autumn there for the confrontation with Shiny Sparkle?

For what it's worth, Autumn would rather be elsewhere when that happens.
Edgedancer he/him Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 Probably, yes. For what it's worth, Autumn would rather be elsewhere when that happens. Nacked and isolated in a prision cell or clothed in his own bed after getting some ship-tease with a cute woman, I think most people prefer the second option Understandable. *Looks up Salem* *finds place to report crimes* Yep, that's one place going down post-Calamity. Now now, they are only doing their job and they continue to do so. As the vanilla staff for the colloseum, if you get my drift.
Comatose he/him Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 They feel like it would amuse a group of writers somewhere? I'd go with all of the above, it'd be a safe way to gauge your own strength as an Epic without risking your life so I think it could attract quite a few mid-high leveled Epics. It could also be a way to plot how to take out an enemy epic. You challenge them to a battle in the astral plane, and try to get a feel for their powers and weak points, so that when you ambush them in real life, you are prepared for some of their hidden powers. It would also save some of our other threads from being flooded by characters who really are just itching to fight, and hopefully allow those fights to happen without having to work around too much plot, and the other plot lines to proceed without being interrupted with an overload of fight scenes. I was going to have him work for the Queens in Corvallis, but now I'm thinking he would do better in Astoria, maybe as an ally of Azrael - he's an assassin who is very hard to stop, though not too OP as far as attacking others. And here we were arguing if Oregon didn't have enough Epics. I think Inhuman was possibly going to be a head of intelligence, or at least prominent in the field, but that was never worked out entirely with Venture Mistborn. I guess Jumpdrive could also be working under Buttercup, and we can fit Inhuman in as a head of field intelligence or something? Venture Mistborn, what do you think? Right, what do we still need in every location? Portland: Wrapping up the MEE attacks. Dalles: MV and Backtrack getting back to Portland and Shiny Sparkle getting yelled at by Vondra. Astoria: Some wrap up on my end and Winterspell dealing with Dustdevil. Corvallis: Ending the Converter fight. Anything I missed? There's also a short Rainmaker and Hypno scene I'd like to do once this fight is wrapped up, but since Mailliw and I are both online fairly often, I don't think it will take too long. EDIT: There's also the Taylor/Glamour interaction. Kobold, if you have are having trouble with posts with this one, I'm fine with just agreeing here what the rest of the interaction looks like, and then not showing it on screen, if we'd rather not slow down the day transfer. I just need to know what happens so that I know where to start with Taylor in Day 2.
Kobold King he/him Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 Kobold, what do you think, would it make more sense for Vondra to send her to him now or would he want Autumn there for the confrontation with Shiny Sparkle? Autumn will not be anywhere in the vicinity when Vondra confronts her. He doesn't want to risk her kidnapping Autumn and porting out of town in a fit of rage. Glamour isn't really the problem, it's more general busy-ness, tired-ness, and a general distracting environment that have kept me from writing anything of late. I'll try to get something up soon. :/

For anyone. Except Backtrack, because we all know that in his case, the cute young woman would probably be a spy for the Lord of the Silverfish. By the way, is there anything he would've mentioned in previous counseling sessions with Autumn that she might be considering as she goes to evaluate him? I'm thinking she already respects him for asking the City Guard to activate his weakness and imprison him if he ever went off the rails, so anything he told her shed be evaluating in a positive light. If he told her anything that might be pertinent to his current situation—things that bother him when the corruption gets to be too much, for example—she'd be looking for those things to see whether or not he's fit for duty. 2
