Welcome. Welcome. :) :) :) If you enjoyed MBI, just imagine how much you'll enjoy the insanity that makes up Oregon. ;)

But what if I like the snail pace of the MBI? And the lack of Insanity (I've not had much to do with the Sureau's quite yet)

Oh trust me, she wouldn't want to do that. ;) The price would be far too high, assuming she values her life and control of her city.

But what if he made a contract with her for a set number of.favors in return for a place to.stay and normals to control.

hmm that is a fair point. She can't really threaten him, as he can just teleport away no matter what she does.

Would she allow someone this powerful to even live in her city, though, someone who could trick her Queens and Epics against her?

Meh, its Comatose's call, ultimately

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

...Bother. Why did I start posting in that thread. See what you've don Twi and Kobold?

Well here I am. Maybe I might join the Corvallis thread. Need to find the energy to read it first though....

Welcome aboard! :D

Need a rundown of the city? What character did you have in mind?

Wooo Brandon recognized the RP!!! :D

I always assume that people are immune to the direct effects of their powers at the very least automatically, and it goes without saying :) (a fire Epic who isn't immune to fire/heat damage would die very quickly).

That's one of the easiest ways for me to add Epics to the MEE, give them a relatively common power but don't make them immune to it. (Like Rapid, the speed Epic who has to tear his body apart to use his speed)

UPDATE:

Yes, Epics can have children. Epicness does not necessarily travel down the line, but it can. (I have to be vague here because of the next book.)

Brandon answered the children question.

Welcome Haelbarde! We're happy to have you. I don't think you'll find our insanity so bad once you're a part of it. ;):D

In other news, Brandon responded to another of our RP questions!

Thanks! (I think)

I should probably have a read of the thread first. I've also not got a character in mind quite yet either.

Don't worry, there are times when we hardly move. It's been almost a year and we've gone three full days in Portland and all of the Dalles, Corvallis, and Astoria have been started in this last game day. We've got plenty of time. If you don't like insanity, close your eyes when you're on these Questions. The RP itself is fine, but these threads go overboard for sure. :P See, we're on page 49 and it hasn't been 10 days yet.

Just read the latest Timeport post, good job Mail-mi!
I'm debating whether or not to reveal an interesting coincidence here or to PM it since it contains potential weakness spoilers.

Huh. So Epics aren't sterile. And it sounds like they can mate with regular humans since their children don't necessarily have to be Epics.

I found that somewhat surprising, along with the reason for his vagueness. Will we encounter a child Epic in the next book, which I now want to read even more than I did when I started this sentence?

I can supply approximately 5 million Epic ideas if you need any.

Would an Epic child have a weakness? Would powers manifest at birth, or do they wait for traumas to activate their powers and then that is their weakness? Do they share their parent's power/s? Would two Epics mating create a child with a mix/match or all the powers of both?

Questions.....

Oh. I wonder if it's only redeemed Epics who can pass their powers along to their children? Or if only redeemed Epics can have children at all?

Yeah, me too. Did some of the Coven have children or Calamity himself or Oblite-never mind. Nope. Forget that.

Is that all?

And then...  How did epics not run out of names

Well that's probably about the total number of Epics in the world so...  I can always make more. :P

(I'm a little obsessed with creating Epic profiles)

Because I suck at names so I come up with names like TheGuyWithThisPower!

I guess the question is 'does this make Epicness genetic?' Like is there an 'E(pic)' gene. Does this effect who gets to be an epic?

EDIT: My rep has gone up two tiers since I started posting here...

@Voidus: I'd be intrigued to read through that list, actually.

We should make a database of Epic ideas, that would be cool.

We already have one, although I have my own personal database that's far larger but also much more incomprehensible :P

Epic Ideas

I was so sure that Epics were sterile. I should know better than to be confident in my headcanons by now. :P

It makes me wonder if I should rethink my headcanon of why some Epics are more powerful. Like if instead of power level corresponding to the strength of their fear, it's actually related to how much they dislike Michael Buble or something.
