Kobold King he/him Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 On that front it might make sense to 1) ask if there was a mix up with the names Night's Sorrow and Night's Wisper and 2) to either specifically exclude them/him/her or ask for details. She will make her own pugs from now on and hey shall e Pugborn. Like that? Fus ro d'aww! 1
Edgedancer he/him Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Like that? Fus ro d'aww! That could work. Now, given the name I'm pretty sure Darkerose could fit in well with the Coven. That would be much better for the pugs than what I was thinking of. 1

Given I chose the name for sounding sufficiently goth-like, I'm now wondering if goths make up the entire upper hierarchy of the Coven. By the way, Edge, I don't know if you'll answer this, have already answered this, or what... but has Voidgaze already faced her fear?

On that subject I don't know if we should write any Epics facing their fears yet, until we get more information on what happens it's pretty likely that we'll have to retcon something.
Redbird he/him Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 So apparently, there is this trope called Lethal Harmless Powers, such as Heatsink can shatter someones chest by pulling all the heat out then punching it, or just stop their brain, by absorbing all the electricity going through it.

I don't know that I'd call the ability to freeze people harmless even if not used tactically but yeah my personal mission is to exploit that trope as much as possible. Like with Refill, the bartender Epic who ended up being able to blow people up from the inside.

Always holding those powerful High Epics like Darkrose and Sunburst back and giving us the likes of Lightwards and Deathwish instead. Are you sure you don't want us to attack them? It was an accident officer, I swear! As you might remember, while I started Voidgaze as a nice one I originally fully intended for her to turn bad... and then Firefight hit. We don't really know all the details yet but it seems rather likely that both backstory wise and some of her actions in game wouldn't really make sense unless she did. So yeah, Firefight put her into a kind of weird limbo where I need to retcon all the allusions I made to her having trouble from the corruption but don't completely know what to replace them with. TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted May 16, 2015 Author Posted May 16, 2015 So Kobold's question got RAFOd and now I'm thinking I should've gotten a degree in puglishing instead. The things you miss while you're asleep.

TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted May 16, 2015 Author Posted May 16, 2015 What exactly does it mean to have a degree in puglishing? A business degree with a double minor in marketing and pugs, perhaps?

Um... no? Maybe? Attack them and find out? Hmm. That does put her in an odd position. If I recall correctly most of her corruption merely surfaced as her getting angry or indignant. Considering she spent her childhood holed up in an abandoned building with occasional servants bringing her food, could those emotions simply be justified as her having developed a slightly volatile personality without Calamity's influence?

I might have to look over some scenes, the ones in which she was in the museum, specifically and have her talk with Altermind over the nature of their... allies to compensate some. Voidus Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 She did just murder a few Epics and maim a bunch more, admittedly she had some justification but still somewhat of a corrupted nature.

Could be that Nighthound's attack on her house left her in a kill-or-be-killed-over-and-over state of mind. And in the years she's been in that house, there could have been more Nighthounds.

Those pretty clearly do fall under a case of selfe-defense (and whatever the American equivalent of Nothilfe is), though. Anyway... Yes, that's the case. There have been quite a lot of instances like that over the time, even if they grew rarer in recent times.

I might have to look over some scenes, the ones in which she was in the museum, specifically and have her talk with Altermind over the nature of their... allies to compensate some. The consequences of Sam or Revolution not being able to fight back would have to be more horrifying to me than utterly scrapping all of my current plans. Which means, Nighthound. Cool. And I look forward to seeing Voidgaze challenge Altermind on moral grounds, despite how poorly that'll probably turn out.

Voidus Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 We really need to finish up today. Just waiting on Joe to finish up the Dominion fight then if no one else has anything I'll timeskip to the MoNA attack and I think that's it for the night

Kobold, do we start up the attack with the scene as is or do you want Lightwards to react to the whole Unicyclist deal first?

Kobold, do we start up the attack with the scene as is or do you want Lightwards to react to the whole Unicyclist deal first? I'll set aside some time today to write up a brief Lightwards reaction, then the attack can start. Did we ever agree on what exactly they'll be doing with the Unicyclist?

Voidus Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Also Kobold we'll need to tie up MV and Backtrack before morning starts in Portland or we'll have to write them on two seperate timelines.

Sparks. I forgot about that. How long do you think it'll take to get them through the Frequency fight and back on the road to Portland? Will Baxter have any time to recruit Backtrack before they leave?

I can retcon my last post to them not entering the fight if needed, but I think the MoNA attack will probably take a while anyway so we're probably good for time.
