day 27:

"Peaches!" Rand said, aghast. Everyone knew those were poisonous.

Honestly, I have been expecting something to cleanse the peaches since they first mentioned they were poisonous in this age but not before the breaking.

Day 28:

"But this . . . this isn't about blacksmithing, Perrin . . ."

"Of course it is," Perrin said. How could Rand not see that?

Day 29:

“Didn’t you once lead a band of thieves out of this forest?”

Birgitte grimaced. “I was hoping you hadn’t heard that one.”

Could be Elayne or Mat talking to her, but it sounds like Mat to me.

Day 30: Two separate quotes today for Christmas

Rand strode forward, lifting his arms out to the sides. Grass sprouted in waves, red blossoms burst from the ground like a blush upon the land. The storm stilled, the dark clouds burned away by light.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A joyful song, a song of awe and wonder, though she could not understand the words.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hmm. is the first one before or after the battle? It could fit in either way, though the storm would probably have broken after he defeated the Shadow.

It looks like the tinkers find their song. It has been a while since they played a major role, so I wonder what they do in this one except sit outside the city.

Day 31:

He doesn't want to fight in Andor, Elayne thought. He doesn't want to fight alongside me. He wishes the break to be clean.

Sounds like Elayne thinks Rand does not love her. Could Gawyn be avoiding her due to his love for Egwene?

Day 32:

Rand stiffened. He'd known what he was doing, on some level, but to hear it explained was disconcerting.

That one sounds very familiar. It might come from one of the earlier books.

Day 32:

If the end of the Aiel was the sacrifice required for Rand to win, she would make it.

That sounds like Amys or Avi. I am leaning more toward Avi.

Day 34: What did you do when the One Power failed, the thing you relied upon to raise you above common folk?

Now now. I'd like to think that is Rand being unable to tap the One Power at some point, possibly when he was bound. But I'm leaning to this being Rand destroying the One Power somehow.

I thought Rand for a few moments, but the innkeeper would probably fit better. Mat will probably meet up with her again fairly quickly.

The visions indicate that the One Power will be functional after the Last Battle, assuming of course that the Dark One loses. Though it might fail temporarily partway through, via Rand in a circle of three using literally all of it.

Day 36: This came much later, sorry.

"Run, Bela," Faile said. "If you've kept any strength back, now is the time to use it. Please. Run, girl. Run."

Looks like Perrin must be in trouble. But what on earth is Faile doing on Bela?

Holy French! Day 37's is epic. That has to be the best line I've heard so far. Save for the ending :D

Also, Faile in distress, Bela being all cool: more justification for Bela being the Dark One.

Day 38:

Humankind did not have days remaining, but hours.

Looks like Rand pulled the timing off just right then.

If Bela turns out to be just a plain horse, it will be a minor disappointment. She has born two amyryllins and didn't she belong to Rand or Tam originally?

Bela's had more screen time than all but the major characters :P

Day 39:

They seemed to be cracks into nothingness. They drew the light in, sucked it away. It was as if he was looking at fractures in the nature of reality itself.

Some sort of deathgate?

Day 40:

"We'll remember those who fell, and we'll tell our children how we stood when the clouds turned black and the world started to die. We'll tell them we stood shoulder to shoulder, and there was just no space for the Shadow to squeeze through."

Well, that is pretty obvious as to who will win.

Could just be an inspirational pre-battle speech, but yeah I think we all know whose going to win :P (Bella right?)

Day 41:

They stood at the edge of time itself, and still Thom Merrilin found a smile.

Hmm. Tone suggest he might not live, but then I might just be reading too much into it.

With one day left, Tor presents:

By the Light, he had a book to finish before he went!

Does everyone agree that this has to be Loial?
