Edgedancer he/him Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Not nearly as dangerous as Unicyclia, where the ruling class tears across the countryside on unicycles and the sound of bagpipes can mean either healing or a firey death. Don't forget the dinosaur stampedes. 2
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted March 30, 2015 Author Posted March 30, 2015 Don't forget the dinosaur stampedes. I kind of want to visit Altropolis, where lack of pockets is no barrier to always having a tasty breakfast sandwich within arm's reach. 1
Kobold King he/him Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Interventionopolis is probably the least sober world in the multiverse. 2

TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted March 30, 2015 Author Posted March 30, 2015 Interventionopolis is probably the least sober world in the multiverse. Did you hear that? A joyous cry of "LOOK OUT HEAVEN, HERE I COME!" It sounded like Chicago Joe. Should....should we tell him Interventionotropolis only exists in theory? 2
mail-mi he/him Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Timeport's universe must be pretty interesting. Everything is clean and orderly in Mommytopia.
Edgedancer he/him Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 The Void would be a suprisingly nightmarish place looking at Voidgaze though.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted March 30, 2015 Author Posted March 30, 2015 The Void would be a suprisingly nightmarish place looking at Voidgaze though. I don't know; she gazed into the Void and all it seemed to make her was adorable. Then again, not everyone in the Reckonersverse is Epic!Fluttershy.

Edgedancer he/him Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 All things white would be outlawed or controlled by the government. What would they do to albinos.
Mailliw73 he/him Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Off topic, but I read a theory on the Firefight spoiler board that the reason Epic powers defy physics is because they're pulled from alternate universes where all physics function that way. If that's the case, Big Al, the Unicyclist, and Shiny Sparkle imply the existence of some pretty strange universes. Altermopolis would suck. Everything would be an illusion. You'd have no idea what was real or not. 2
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted March 30, 2015 Author Posted March 30, 2015 Altermopolis would suck. Everything would be an illusion. You'd have no idea what was real or not. And they wouldn't even be FUN illusions. Just lame stuff like making a chair vanish right as you were about to sit, or making the pipes look newer because he didn't want to pay to have them fixed. 2
Mailliw73 he/him Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Plus random torture ones. And those would be awful. Scared of drowning? Well, you'll now feel like you're drowning for hours on end. 1

Kobold King he/him Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Is it possible to contact Geneva Convention Land from Altermopolis? The Geneva Convention is accessible from all universes. The United Realm of Moral Guardianship makes sure of it. 3

TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted March 30, 2015 Author Posted March 30, 2015 Yes, but they're an illusion too. I can't decide. Is that better or worse than Nighthoundington, where they just don't exist?

Kobold King he/him Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 I lost the version of the FUNTIMES list that was on my computer. Is this the newest version of the list? Can you tell us anything about High Epic despots on the west coast? Besides Oregon and the cities that Obliteration destroyed, are there any parts of the Fractured States rendered completely uninhabitable? How long after Calamity's appearance was Oregon destroyed? What are some of the most common Epic powers? What is the approximate ratio between normal humans and Epics? What are the determining factors in an Epic's power level? Is there a correlation between Epic's past lives and their powers, or are their powers assigned at random? Are all Epics capable of communicating with Calamity, or was Regalia a special case? Does Calamity talk to all Epics? Why has the number of new Epics dropped since Calamity first appeared? It is strongly implied Conflux faced his fear, but did this remove his weakness as well? Can a weakness change? What would happen if an Epic was constantly exposed to his or her weakness? Does the Epic have to be aware of their weakness for it to affect them? If there was an Epic whose weakness was bodies of water, would his weakness activate if he unknowingly entered the vicinity of a lake? How many Epics have "unique" powers like Firefight or Mitosis? Exactly how much and what type of genetic material is required to make a motivator? How many cells of Reckoners are there, and do they operate globally or strictly in the Fractured States? When were the Reckoners established? How many countries didn't pass an equivalent to the Capitulation Act? Is there anything you can tell us about the Epic named Night's Sorrow, gender, powers, or area of influence-wise? Can you tell us anything interesting about the Coven? Will the Oregon turf wars ever be elaborated on in the novels? If Vin were an Epic, what would her powers and weakness be? Is there any chance of you eventually publishing an illustrated guide to Epics as a companion to the Reckoners trilogy? How many humans were killed before Annexation Day? Can a specific song become an Epic's weakness? There'll be a signing on Easter weekend apparently, so I need to get the list posted well ahead of then. (And preferably not on April Fool's Day, lest anyone get the wrong idea. )
Comatose he/him Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 So, I have a new epic idea. Not sure if I'll have time to write him in the RP, or where he could fit in, or if he even would fit in, but he came to me today, so I thought I would get him out of my head . Hopefully this concept doesn't overlap too much with any existing characters. Let me know if he does! My intention was for him to be quite powerful, but if he feels overpowered (even for an epic), I'm also open to edits. Also, apparently he comes with a side-kick, who may or may not be a mash-up of the character I was discussing before with some of the concepts we were talking about in the probability epic discussion . Anyways, Epic #1: Name : Sleepwalker Powers: 1. Sleepwalker has the ability, while unconscious, to astral project himself within a range of 50km from where his body is resting. While astral projecting, he can use his other powers and observe events, but no one can see, hear, or feel him. The exception is other sleeping people, who will see him in their dreams if he passes near them. The time he spends in astral form is limited by the time he can stay asleep, meaning he must 'reset' by waking up to see to his basic needs, and that he usually ends up spending about half of every 24 hours powerless. He has no ability to extend his sleeping cycle, and the use of medication to do so tends to interfere with his powers. 2. Sleepwalker, while in astral form, can put anyone to sleep instantly. Once he has put someone to sleep, he can control their bodies. That's right, he can create an army of sleepwalkers. Of course, all of his 'thralls' are released from his control whenever he wakes up. 3. Finally, Sleepwalker has the ability to manipulate dreams pretty much however he wants. Unless his target is trained to dream lucidly at will (which is the coolest thing ever), they will be completely unaware they are dreaming, and will believe everything that is happening in the dream is real. He can use this technique combined with his astral projection to send messages to his allies. He can also use this power to wake people up, but he has to kill them in dream to do it. Weakness: A particular brand of sleeping medication. If he is tricked into using knock off or similar products, his powers will be weakened, but only this one particular brand (or an absolutely identical homemade mix) will neutralize his powers, forcing him into a normal sleep. Also, people who use this medication to sleep are immune from his powers. Of course, his powerlessness while awake and his time and distance limit could also be exploited as potential weaknesses. MO: Basically he is looking for a kingdom to create and rule over while people sleep, like any good epic of his powerset. Since he has no prime invincibility, he relies on allies and bodyguards to protect him while he is awake and powerless, in exchange for his protection of them while they are sleeping. He has a good sense of humour, and likes to play with his food. Appearance: Sleepwalker is small, both short and thin, of Malaysian American descent. While he keeps himself clean, he doesn't put much effort into his waking appearance, wearing non-descript clothing, and keeping his hair medium length and unstyled. When astral projecting himself, he often adds colour to his hair, and spices up his wardrobe. History: He was an extremely hyper active child, so his parents put him on sleeping medication to "calm him down" and give themselves a break. He spent most of his early life constantly drowsy. His parents got him addicted, and he quickly became unable to sleep without the medication. His state of constant forced medication severely impacted his ability to perform academically, and he dropped out of school. In his teens, he left home and ended up on the streets, where he got into some harder drugs. When Calamity came, he was in his mid twenties, and was just finishing a rehabilitation program and his high school education, ready for a new start in life. And his loyal second in command: Name: Crush Primary Power: Standard Super Strength with a dash of enhanced reflexes just because. Passive Ability/Prime Invincibility: A twist on the concept of probability manipulation. She cannot actively manipulate probability, but it will protect her from any harm. To be clear, it does not affect the success or failures of her actions, it only foils attempts by others to harm her. Think of it this way: harming her is basically against the laws of nature. Just like gravity pulls things towards the earth and hot air rises, knives used to attack Crush will break, shots fired at her will always miss, a piano dropped on her from above will inexplicably break apart on the way down. If she is dropped into a pit of spikes, she will land between the spikes. You get the picture. This effect only works with immediate danger though. For example, you would be able to lead her unsuspecting into a furnace and trap her there, but when you tried to turn the furnace on, it would break down or something. Her invincibility also only protects her from the actions of people (including herself). Example: If she jumps off of a building, her power would find a way to save her. If someone pushes her, same deal. If she falls accidentally, through no intervention of another living person, then she would be toast. The key is causation. No person can cause her to die, but acts of chance or nature (that are not manipulated by epics) such as an avalanche or a bolt of lightening, can. (I hope this makes sense. Let me know if it isn't clear!) Weakness: A contrast to Sleepwalker, her powers don't work while she is asleep. I wonder why they are working together, hmmmmm... MO: Fiercely loyal, she will protect Sleepwalker at all costs. Her fighting style incorporates the full extent of her acrobatic abilities, as well as her incredible strength. Not prone to conversation, Crush never laughs at any of Sleepwalker's jokes. Appearance: Crush is a Guatemalan of mixed Q'eqchi and Ladino descent, with long dark hair and deep dark eyes. She has the figure of a gymnast and the skills to match. Like Sleepwalker, she wears clothing that allows her to blend in, avoiding flashy costumes in favour of simple utilitarian pieces that allow her to utilize the full extent of her flexibility and acrobatics. She is tall for a Guatemalan, which means average height in Canada/USA. History: Crush grew up in relative luxury as the daughter of a prominent Guatemalan drug lord who controlled a small rural region of the country. From an early age she excelled at gymnastics. In her late teens, she qualified for the Olympics, but Calamity came before she could compete. She was training in the US at the time, and met up with Sleepwalker shortly after her rending was complete. 3
