Let's just say the farm animal part is a *really really* bad description.

Lets see, another character is a girl dealing with negative body image.

Uh... Night Angel?

Not sure where farm animals come into that, though...

They tested their venoms on pigs and the like or used them as vectors for poisons... but that seems to be a far stretch.

I don't know many falafel-eating protagonists, which is a shame because falafel is great. Not as great as shwarma though. :P

Aaaand......is this character revived, zombie, ghost? I have no idea.

OH OH OH I KNOW!!

The Sword of Summer by Rick Riordan. The falafel-eating protagonist is Magnus Chase, who dies defending innocents from a demon from Norse mythology and thus goes to Valhalla as an einherji. :D

Ok I've got one.

A girl's family lets her be kidnapped to appease the local wizard guardian who protects them from a sinister forest.

damnation, I can think of a number of books VERY similar to this, but not exact, so I'm gonna throw one that MIGHT be right. Um... the Septimus Heap series?
