AussieMistborn
Voidus, I'm from Ballarat in Victoria! Just over an hour west of Melbourne! And Snoopy, yes Vegemite is where it's at. Nothing better than Vegemite spread lightly on toast of a morning!
Kipper he/him
Ugh. I was introduced to it by an exchange student here, and I hated the stuff.
Queen Elsa Steelheart she/her
I ate Vegemite once or twice when I was four, I haven't ate it since. Hated it since. If you want a better Australian food, try Tim Tams or Lamington
Voidus
I ate Vegemite once or twice when I was four, I haven't ate it since. Hated it since. If you want a better Australian food, try Tim Tams or Lamington ^These are both great suggestions, I'm also pretty opposed to vegemite. I'm from Adealide myself but I have some family near Melbourne and we've gone through Ballarat once or twice Edited February 7, 2015 by Voidus
Delightful
One of the highlights of my past week was giving Vegemite to an American and watching her splutter over it . And I put it on a cracker and everything too, not the like thick spoonful Americans sometimes take when trying it. Yesss Lamingtons are so underrated! They're amazing!! Aka....hi MistbornAussie. I'm Aussie too. And I find it amusing that you live near Ballarat were there are the gold mines. I wonder if then gold rush diggers were just looking for allomantic metals? Now I reallywanna see wax and Wayne era gold rush.
AussieMistborn
I don't get how one couldn't like it! Hahaha like, i would never just eat a spoonful of the stuff thats disgusting. But vegemite on toast or a vegemite and cheese sandwich, you can't go wrong!!Tim Tams and Laminations are also delicious! Ah Adelaide! Ive never had the pleasure. Truth be told I've never actually been outside of Victoria haha
AussieMistborn
Hi Delightful! Yep the gold mines are everywhere here! I'm not sure how much you would scavenge out of them now though! Although in the right creeks and that every now and then you can find a wrong with a few speckles in it! A Wax And Wayne era gold rush would be awesome!
Delightful
Hi Delightful! Yep the gold mines are everywhere here! I'm not sure how much you would scavenge out of them now though! Although in the right creeks and that every now and then you can find a wrong with a few speckles in it! A Wax And Wayne era gold rush would be awesome! I've been gold panning around the country before on holidays, you know how every country town has a historical gold mining village? It's nearly impossible to find anything but I'm sure a Mistborn would have no trouble I've never had Vegemite and cheese together before....sounds really nice. I'm abroad at the moment, but if I can get my hands on some Vegemite I'd love to try that (and I can just hear the non-Australians gagging at the suggestion ☺️)
AussieMistborn
This thread turned to the acquired taste of an Australian classic spread very quickly, but I have no problem with that whatsoever! Hahah And also, I'm not sure if you have tried Vegemite and Salada's before but they're worth the effort trust me hahaha
Surgebound Rainspren he/him
Hey, welcome I'm from Melbourne. have fun here... oh and also always avoid baked goods from people in alleys. (also its a common misconception that Vegemite is from Australia, it's actually a rare fungus from mars that seems to grow on the inside of specific yellow containers, it was brought to our fair country by aliens trying to get rid of it in the 17th century)
