It is finished! The Newcago Royalty coat of arms has arrived!

Newcago%2Bcoat%2Bof%2Barms.jpg

I guess I'll walk you all through it...

At the top we have a laughing kookaburra, over a banner that says "Delightful and Elsa Steelheart". Below that is Elsa's crown from Frozen hovering above a knight's helmet. Around the helmet are chocolates and snowflakes, along with some mantling. The shield has the Frozen snowflake, an Australian flag, a koala, and the 17th shard logo. The shield supporters are a chained emu and a kangaroo (it's a grey kangaroo, for any of you who were wondering). The bottom banner says "Newcago Royalty" and there are two shardblades beneath it (these are from page 513 of Words of Radiance. The wavy blade is Firestorm, king Gavilar's shardblade).

The piece is 9 by 12 inches and done in pen.

I think that's everything. :)

What do you all think?

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! FANTASTIC JOB!!!!

Seriously, its actually amazing.

"Duchess Brightness Random, Consider this a promotion. You are now the duchess and Royal Emblem Mistress of Newcago Court."

Does anyone know how I can get this in my signature?? :)

Posted (edited)

1. Right-click image

2. Click "open image" or "view image" or "view image in New tab".

3. When you've got a tab with just the picture, copy the link.

4. Go to your Sig and put [img*]http://www.whatevertheURLofthepicturewas.com[/img*]

(Except don't put the asterisks. I just put those there to keep it from closing. Make sure you have the slash in the last one, though.)

5. Enjoy your natty new sig. You may want to spoil out the picture, otherwise someone will complain about your signature being too long.

Edit: That, at least, is how I would do it on mobile. I almost never use desktop, but I'm pretty sure I remember there being a dedicated Image button on the full editor. That could solve your problem more effectively, methinks. I just don't know how to use it.

"Duchess Brightness Random, Consider this a promotion. You are now the duchess and Royal Emblem Mistress of Newcago Court."

"Thank you, your majesty." Brightness said, bowing low. She was slightly stunned at this turn of events- Her? Royal Emblem Mistress?- but she was glad that her little drawings could make people happy. "If you'd like, your highness, I could add color to it. I don't know that I'll have time this week, or even next week, but I would love to have the chance to go through and color it in." :)

You could probably just put some common statements in your sig.

#1. "She was slightly stunned."

#2. "She blushed, embarrassed."

Then, when you want to say them, you can just put "#1" or "see #1" instead of writing out the whole thing. This would give you more time to be stunned/embarrassed, whichever it happened to to be.

I would love to see that, but its okay if you don't have a chance. Only when you can :)

And Thanks Snoopy :), but it came up with 'you are not allowed to use that extension on this community'

This is just. Absolutely gorgeous.

I am mind blown.

Thank you for this piece of pure awesomeness.

Huh. Did you use the button or type it in manually, as in my example?

If you're on desktop, it's in the toolbar. Looks like a rectangle colored like a window, sort of. I don't really know how to use it, though. I'm afraid my knowledge runs out there.

Okay. I'll try that. Thanks for all the help :) :) : )

Going to test the button out on here before I put it in a sig

Brightness Random looked to Snoopy, (see #1) by his ridiculous comments.

"If you prefer, Snoopy," she told him, "I could be a Fullborn/Master-of-all-10-surges/10th-heightening-Awakener/Master-Forger, but I felt that we already have enough variations on that theme floating around the 17th Shard. I prefer to contrast with others and their confidence. Also, it's lots of fun to write. Not to mention-"

(see #2). "I'm sorry, that kind of broke the 4th wall, didn't it..." Pausing, she shook her head to herself. "No. The Root Beer Bar is a place where people can RP or just be themselves. I do suppose that would have been okay..."

She looked back to Snoopy. "Forget that. Look, I don't need your high headed confidence, as I'm a perfectly good, easily startled, easily embarrassed, root beer loving, poetry writing, emblem designing lighteyed lady and that's that."

"Besides..." she said, almost to herself, "it would have to be at least 10 words apiece to make it worth putting it in my sig..."

"I think that I'm the only Forger running around," Snoopy grinned, somewhat amused by the Duchess's outburst.

Maybe I should put "somewhat amused" in my Sig...

Brightness sighed to herself, slouching over for a moment before perking back. "I've just remembered my brilliant idea!" she announced. She hurried across the room and sat down on Snoopy's table, a few feet down from his mug of root beer. "Hey, Snoopy!" she said in a sing-song voice, "I've just remembered my brilliant idea!"

Posted

Snoopy groaned, root beer splashing on one of his beautiful hardwood tables. Oh well, the Essence Mark in there should leave the table somewhat resistant to staining.

He looked up at Brightness. "What was it? I'm afraid I don't recall."

Posted

She rolled her eyes at his theatrics, but still smiled. "That's because I hadn't told you it yet. I've been thinking about it for a while now, but I'll need your permission to go through with. I'll need one of the spare brewing rooms."

Posted

"Um, can you tell me why?" Snoopy requested, leaning back in his chair. "I don't really think we have an empty one right now...well, we might in Block A, but even then, I don't know..."

Posted

Brightness turned to cheese. "Please tell me, Cheese, why in the name of the colors I would want to do that?" she asked dryly. "Do you know what that would do to Shadesmar? No, I don't want to swap oceans, I-" she hesitated, suddenly feeling a sense of apprehension. Is this really the best idea? she wondered. I mean, there's no reason he'll agree. "I..." she started again, mouth feeling dry.

"I want to run a business out of the Root Beer Bar!" she blurted. "I could design and sell coats of arms, you could provide root beer! I mean, it's so cozy in here and I don't really want to have to set up my own place, plus this way we could advertise for each other and..." she was rambling. Stormfather, she was rambling even as she asked permission to for her shop. Perfect, she thought sarcastically, Absolutely perfect.

Snoopy stared at Brightness impassively for a minute or two, thinking.

"It...could be done," he finally said, "and I like your initiative. This could be an excellent way for both of us to catch the eyes of the other guilds."

He leaned forward, the two front legs of his chair hitting the ground.

"However, I do have some questions before we start this up. What is your policy on who you serve? Would you, for example make the Dark Alley a coat of arms? It really doesn't matter to me either way, but you should mention these things up front, to avoid conflicts later." Snoopy rubbed his temples. "Oh, and advertising. Storms, but I hate advertising. I'll do my part for you (in my sig) since you're a member of the Bar. I suggest that you post an advertisement yourself (in the form of a new thread) once we get things set up." Snoopy drank deeply and slammed his mug down, wincing as he smashed his pinky finger. He shoved the mug down the table into the cleaning slot.

"What do you think? Sound good? If so, we could go check out a possible brewery for you to use."

She could see him thinking about it. He stared at her, expressionlessly, and she could see him thinking about it. Storms, she thought, how long is this going to take? Nearly a minute later, he finally spoke, and her breath caught in her throat.

"It...could be done."

She nearly sighed in relief, but managed to stop herself. Wait, she thought, is he still talking? He was saying something policies, and- the Dark Alley? She was nearly too relieved to care. Focus, focus. she told herself. What was he grumbling about now?

"Oh, and advertising. Storms, but I hate advertising. I'll do my part for you since you're a member of the Bar." Yes, yes yes! she thought. This could actually work! Within a day or two, I could be making coats of arms for guilds, and-

He was still talking.

Stopping tuning him out, you halfwit! she berated herself, just listen! "-that you post an advertisement yourself once we get things set up." He took a long drink from his mug, then slammed it down onto the table with a loud bang. She squeaked in surprise- sitting next to the mug had apparently not been the best choice- but he didn't seem to notice. "What do you think?" he asked, "Sound good? If so, we could go check out your room."

She blinked in surprise for a moment, then gathered her wits and replied. "Oh, yes! Of course! That sounds fantastic, Snoopy. I-"  why was her voice so squeaky? "That sounds great." she said in a slightly calmer voice.

How insulting.

Snoopy smiled, already making plans for the brewery. "Fantastic," he chuckled warmly, "Why don't we go to the spare brewery and check?"

They proceeded to the brewery, chatting along the way.

"I think the décor will be perfect for you," Snoopy assured the Brightness, "It's got kind of the faux industrial feel, with beams and metal studs taking the place of a closed ceiling."

Posted

I suppose I'm just an insulting person. :D

"What?!" Brightness asked, "No, no, nooooooo. If you think I'm going to run my business out of a warehouse, you are sadly mistaken, my friend." She pulled him to a halt, pointing to the ceiling.  "Look at this. Look at it, Snoopy. The lighting is terrible! It's brighter during a highstorm! You expect me to make these crests in the dark?! No, there are going to be be new lights in here."

Looking around the room, she pointed to the wall, then the floor. "Cold bare walls? No carpet? Do you know anything about art? I can't make a masterpiece in here. I just wouldn't feel comfortable enough. No, what this room needs is a little color."
