Anyone read this?

Finished second book several days ago. One of the best reads I had in a time. I always wanted to read books from villain's povs and Jorg is my favorite villain from now on =))

Very much enjoyed the first book. The second is sitting on my shelf looking at me. I may need to indulge soon.

Looks interesting. I'll have to put it on the To Read list, which means I might not get to it for another six years. Although if I find it at the bookstore, I will definitely take a look at it.

Have to chime in and recommend these books. Extremely good books, probably the best written first person pov I've ever read besides Rothfuss, but they are so drastically different it's hard to say. Kvothe tickles the beauty out of things when you're in his head. Jorg stabs you in the face with sharp awesomeness.

The Builder's reveal is one of those easter egg type things that just makes you look at everything differently. The clues are there...pay attention! I couldn't stop smiling and going...Wow!...for a while after the red castle events.

*WARNING*

This book has some serious graphic references. However, they aren't graphic descriptions of these things...just pretty twisted references to acts and actions.

For anyone who has read Dan Wells...this is like being in the head of John Wayne Cleaver...except Jorg thrives in it instead of holding back. But all is not as it seems! Extremely good character arc across the first two books.

Okay. Rant over. :) Really, really good books.

I shall Necro this topic by eating it's black heart.  Recently finished the first book I really really liked it.  Very kinetic, a read that literally pulls you thru and keeps the pace up.  Book two I'm in the middle of and it's a slower read but the prose is still excellent and the story rocks.  I can't wait to finish this trilogy I have a feeling it might be a modern classic.  @Elwynm  I totally agree on the Builders stuff.  Its really cool.  When they were approaching the Red Castle I was thinking (he's going to make this place inhospitable) how right I was... Yeesh.

Restored my faith in Dark, Gritty Fantasy!!!!

Every once in a while i get weary of the clean cut, naive, absurdly clueless but lucky hero and feel like something a bit more realistic and honest to the dark side of human nature.

This was a pleasant surprise and i loved every page! Eagerly awaiting book 2 in The second trilogy !
