Eilemelie Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 I also voted for Szeth, mostly because I think his flashbacks would be the most compelling ones at this point, there has been so much hinting and so little answers towards his past and the Shin. I personally don't think there could be much more build up towards the reveal and I feel that it would take focus of him and make the readers comparatively less interested in his story to put it of to the fourth or even fifth book.
dvoraen Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 I've been wondering. Does Nightblood actually need the investiture it drains, or does it just eternally increase in strength? This assumes Nightblood simply doesn't draw it in and use it to sustain its Awakened state (or flat out consumes it completely), but I haven't had a chance (time) to read Warbreaker so I'm going blindly off the very little information I have.

Only the Returned actually need to be continuously sustained AFAIK. Basically, lifeless and awakened objects seem to last more or less forever, while Returned don't without help, but Returned already behave vastly differently from the other two while Nightblood behaves even more differently for completely different reasons. As if by pushing Awakening to its limit they accidentally produced a completely unique self-contained magic system outright. Awakened objects don't normally consume breath, but really we don't know if Nightblood really works like that anymore. Swords shouldn't be able to do half the stuff he does.
Unhinged he/him Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 I'm a bit torn here right now I'd lean towards Szeth just because he's the one that I was expecting. But Estonia could be very interesting as well and I would love to see her break Odiums control and try to save her people plus we still don't know what went down that night between the Parshendi delegation and Galivar but I can wait one more book for that. Right now I want to see what Szeth can really do.

LtGrimes618 he/him Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Does anyone think the stormlight archive could be turned into a television series?
Bort he/him Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 There are a few different threads about turning the Stormlight Archive into a movie, movie series, or TV series, and the consensus seems to be that it would make for a better TV series than movie.
Frosted Flakes Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 I hope it goes Eshonai, Szeth, and then Dalinar. For Eshonai and Szeth, I would like to see one character doing things in present time while we see the other characters flashbacks - that way, it's not too saturated with one specific character. So if book three is present day Eshonai and flashback Szeth, book four will be present day Szeth and flashback Eshonai. Then book five will be a Dalinar Double Whammy to end the first five-book arc with as much awesomeness as possible before the break between arcs. 2
Scar Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 (edited) See, I feel like Szeth would make the most interesting flashback book, but I love Kaladin so I'm also hoping for Dalinar. EDIT: Eshonai might be cool with the history of the voidbringers, but I don't feel it would contribute to the overall series and world building.. Edited February 9, 2015 by Windrunner Please don't double post, thanks!
