What year was Gavilar killed?

The Way of Kings takes place entirely in 1173, I believe, and the Alethi have been warring for five or six years (Kaladin kills Helaran five years after Gavilar's murder), so 1168 or 1167.

Gavilar has maps made in 1167, so he was alive for at least part of that year. There are references to his erratic behavior in the months before his death, so if the maps were made in the beginning of that year, then he died in that year. I want to make a Timeline for both of the books, including flashbacks.

I would search for "timeline" and "chronology" in the forums.  People have done good work that you can build on.  When you're done, it might be a good thing to add to the coppermind for the series.

There is nothing in the Coppermind under "timeline".  For the Stormlight Archive, there is nothing under "Chronology" or "Timeline".  Maybe some added references would be helpful. 

 

One amusing sequence:

1171 Shallans brother Helaran disappears and is proclaimed dead^[38]

1172 Kaladin rescues Amaram and gives up a Shardblade and Shardplate^[39]

According to this timeline, there could be a connection between Seth taking the dark globe to Jar Keved and the "meeting" between Shaman and Pattern (the first one)?
