Andrew C
I can't hear the song 'Superheroes' by The Script without the lyrics getting to me... All his life he's been toldHe’ll be nothing when he’s oldAll the kicks and all the blowsHe won't ever let it show'Cause he's stronger than you knowA heart of steel starts to grow And later... He's a got a beast in his belly That's so hard to control'Cause they've taken too much hitsTaking blow by blowNow light a match, stand back, watch them explode I wonder if Steelheart saw this as the theme song of his life.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her
There's another character that could fit now, too. "Immortals" by Fall Out Boy is a far cheerier anthem. They say we are what we are But we don't have to be I'm bad behavior but I do it in the best way 'Cause we could be immortals, immortals Just not for long, for long Live with me forever now Pull the blackout curtains down We could be immortals The second verse especially describes David's dad, think. Sometimes the only payoff For having any faith Is when it's tested again and again, every day...
Andrew C
It's the name Steelheart and the 'a heart of steel starts to grow' that makes it fit the one character so well. Firefight (minor) spoilers Prior to becoming Steelheart, Paul Jackson was likely in a lot of fights, and while he seems to have won most, he no doubt lost a few too

Tetriona she/her
Is it weird that I just sang both songs very loudly while reading these?
Blackhoof
I think Monster by Imagine Dragons works well, for Epics who are succumbing to the corruption and feel it growing, or the inner voice of Epics who've already succumbed and are horrified at their actions. Lyrics: http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/imaginedragons/monster.html Ever since I could remember,Everything inside of me,Just wanted to fit in (oh oh oh oh)I was never one for pretenders,Everything I tried to be,Just wouldn't settle in (oh oh oh oh)If I told you what I was,Would you turn your back on me?And if I seem dangerous,Would you be scared?I get the feeling just becauseEverything I touch isn't dark enoughIf this problem lies in meI'm only a man with a candle to guide me,I'm taking a stand to escape what's inside me.A monster, a monster,I've turned into a monster,A monster, a monster,And it keeps getting stronger. Tetriona she/her
YESSSS!!!!!! I love that song!!!!!!!! I kind of picture Megan in the first book when I think of this song. Her inner turmoil knowing that nobody knew what she was... (Second verse of the song applying to Epics) I never said that I want this This burden came to me And it's made its home inside Edited May 22, 2015 by Tetriona
Sand Master
Interesting that Immortals by Fallout Boy was mentioned. For some time now I've thought (and just earlier today made a post) that a perfect theme song for the whole Steelheart book would be My Songs Know What You Did In the Dark, also by Fallout Boy.
