Does red work for everyone? It stands out very obviously. I like it. You guys are very quiet today though. What's up?

Some days we only get 10 posts, some days we get 10 pages :P

Red works for me.

Why would we need a third color?

Third? We don't even have one. We brought up having a separate color(like OoC Blue in Elimination) for important things pertaining to the RP or questions about turns and such so that people who skim or don't quite catch up on all the pages we write in this thread can scan for the red to know what is actually important.

Red it is, then! We could have a catchy slogan like "Red gets read" or something or like that. :P

I've been physically and mentally preoccupied today, plus there wasn't much conversation to take part in anyway.

And by "mentally preoccupied," I largely mean "still trying to figure out whether Glamour should play songs from MLP." :P

Should Glamour play songs from MLP? Why is this even a question, Kobold? :P

Also, if Backtrack didn't already have a surname, I would suggest the saddest author name I glimpsed while shelving books: McPhail. :P

Fair point. :P If he'd been an Epic back during Koschei's rule, he'd have spent the entire regime playing The Living Tombstone's "Discord" behind his back.

Koschei! We can't take it anymore!

So take your tyranny awaaaaaaay....!

That is the saddest name I have ever seen.  Almost sad enough to make me want to retcon all instances of the name "Lawrence" in favor it. :P

Firefight spoilers

Just have Megan appear and swap him for a version with a different last name but otherwise identical :P

Lawrence!Backtrack would be very confused and upset about finding himself in a universe where everyone calls him "McPhail" all the time. :P

McPhail-verse!Reader would have been even more amused by Backtrack than he already was. :P

If McPhail!Backtrack bought or built a boat, I have no idea what he would name it. Not that it would matter. Everyone would call it the Phailboat.

Is the McPhail-verse where all characters have surnames starting with "Mc" and finishing with a description? Because I'd like to see McGlitter, McSnark, McHippie, McRifle, McServer, and the other inhabitans of this 'verse. :P

I'm pretty sure people would call it that even if in the Lawrence 'verse. :P

McMancer, McMother, McAxeman, I like this plan :P

So when is he getting a boat?

Edit: Today I learned that this RP changes the way you see the world. The store at the mall called Aldo always makes me glance over my shoulder again, and the Reader section of the library makes me very angry for some reason….

Just one question: is Steelheart McFly, and does he use the expression "this is heavy"? :P

So when is he getting a boat?

Just as soon as he can paddle a rowboat into an Astoria harbor to pathetically challenge the Tidebreaker to ship-to-ship combat. :P

His name was originally Victor. Huh. Forgot about that.

Am I the only one who finds it ironic that we have nicknamed the former Victor "McPhail"?

Me too, somewhere between the time I wrote that bio and the time I started writing his posts. This is why I'm going to need a lot of editors if I ever write a novel. :P

Victor McPhail. That is either the best or the worst protagonist name ever. :P

It definitely would have made the contrast between him and Koschei—whose given name is Viktor—somewhat more hilarious.

"His name was Viktor Dyachenko. And yours?"

"Victor."

"Last name?"

"*mumbles*"

"Sorry, I didn't hear you."

"Mc…oh look! A bunny!"

I was actually somewhat hopping for that to get swamped.

Well I know people who´s name translate into evil and crypt (as in grave or tomb).

Unrelated, but I just randomly visited an old Question page, and found Backtrack's bio as I originally posted it.

It's... not really up to date. :P

Ah, the time Backtrack still had dignety.

Victor McPhail:
Primary power: Pathogenesis- Capable of transmuting water into a variety of poisons and acids.
Passive: Physical enhancement- enhanced speed, strength, balance and dexterity.

Bio: Originally taking the name Victor Phial, Victor frequently spent his time out-performing vanilla athletes in the early days of his powers, gaining the first part of his Epic name from his constant victories. After accidentally turning his own water into poison before a race and fainting halfway through the latter part of his name was changed from Phial to McPhail.

My post is up!

Yay! First RPG Post!

What do you guys think?

Nice one. I´ll have to get used to the first person narration, but that´s me.

The name Mastermind sounds fammiliar but I´m not sure if that´s because I forgot him between Quicksilver and Ringmaster or because the name is somewhat generic.

I may not do first person next time.

I checked around and I don't think an Epic named Mastermind is in use right now. I didn't look in the Unclaimed Epics list though...

Edit: Yeah, there's no Mastermind in the Epics of Oregon thread.

Guess we have yet another faction in the (or is it the the here?) Dalles conflict.

I don't think that that should be hugely concerning just yet. Ozymandias is primarily on a fact-finding mission for Mastermind.

I'll write Mastermind as a character, if nobody doesn't mind.

If you want to, sure. I didn't anticipate Mastermind actually being in The Dalles just yet, but his influence might be felt. Do you want me to PM you with the details I have about him?

Alternately, we could just leave him alone for now, only dealing with him in flashbacks, and bring him in later.

Posted (edited)

I do actually want another Dalles character. Could you PM me the details?

It'll likely be a day or two, but yes. I'll send you the first draft that I had of his powerset and my original plan for him. I will probably want some basic details to remain the same, but perhaps from there we can work together on the relationship between Ozy and Mastermind.
