TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted December 29, 2014 Author Posted December 29, 2014 Let´s give it a try: Towards the few people he cares about Nighthound has rathere tsundere tendencies, so while he would give a child a strict but loving upbringing... assuming it´s a boy... While he would give the child a strict but loving upbringing, most everyone would rightly assume being raised by Nighthound would not be in the child's best interest and perform a stealth adoption in the dead of night, fleeing afterward to a safe house while a team of highly trained assassins took care of Nighthound. I'm sorry, but that is the only way you can convince me the child would have a happy childhood. 3
Jo and the Bush all/any Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 IS the Child From Epic Nighthound or Pre-Calamity Nighthound?
Edgedancer he/him Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 (edited) IS the Child From Epic Nighthound or Pre-Calamity Nighthound? Epic Nighthound´s... and probably still a toddler. Edited December 29, 2014 by Edgedancer
Mailliw73 he/him Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 This is all I have to say to the new Timeport post: Hey, Joe, I think now is a good time for a Reckoners post. I need something good to happen in Portland after Timeport/Quota and Nighthound/Red. Does Moral Guardian need therapy? Because I do after reading that. On the bright side, the little girl who survived will probably grow up to be a hardcore Action Girl who joins the Reckoners, and will possibly kill Timeport. So we've got that to look forward to. Yes, please. How old is this girl? Can she please be picked up by the Reckoners? Let´s give it a try: Towards the few people he cares about Nighthound has rathere tsundere tendencies, so while he would give a child a strict but loving upbringing... assuming it´s a boy... What about a girl? 1
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted December 29, 2014 Author Posted December 29, 2014 How long should one typically wait before creating a new character? Or would it be okay if I created one now? There's no time limit or requirement; all that's needed is that the character fit the story and can be plausibly introduced at this time. Which thread is it for?
Kobold King he/him Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Epic Nighthound´s... and probably still a toddler. We still have no precedent whatsoever for what the children of Epics are like. Is there a vague shadow-canon we'll follow for RP purposes? Will the child be born with powers, or will (s)he be a vanilla? Winter, what precisely does Red look like? How old is she, how grossly scabby is she, what sort of costume does she wear, etc. Just trying to make sure my mental image of her is precisely as disturbing as yours.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted December 29, 2014 Author Posted December 29, 2014 Her hair has dried blood in it. New Character for Portland. Ember, the leader of one of the Reckoner's cells in Portland. She was almost killed by an Epic two years ago, but the Reckoners sprung one of their traps on said Epic. The said Epic had killed Ember's family before moving onto Ember herself and when the Reckoners offered, Ember gladly joined them in order to save other vanillas. One month before, Ember's cell leader was killed in action and Ember had been the one to bring down the Epic that killed the cell leader and a few other Reckoners, so the Reckoners thought fit to chose her as the new cell leader. What color is her hair, her skin, her eyes? Is she small and thin, tall and curvy, somewhere in between? Is Ember an Epic? If so, her name makes sense; if not, it's kind of odd for a normal human fighting Epics to choose an Epic name. And—were there more experienced Reckoners in her cell? If not, it makes sense they'd choose her as their cell leader; if not, why didn't they go for someone more experienced?
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted December 29, 2014 Author Posted December 29, 2014 I think I put a description of Red somewhere. I think it's in the 20s. I'm going to go check. I don't like contradictions. Ember was born with that name. I like that name. She was the most experienced. Wait, I'm going to change the time she joined. It…just seems like an odd name to me. There's probably a way for you to justify its being there (like….I don't know, her parents were huge fans of Danny Phantom, or they loved the Books of Ember series so much that they decided to make their daughter's name an homage to it) but a given name like that needs a justification, or else it'll seem like the name is added in there just because. Also, how she responds to a name like that would be important to her character; if she lost her family to an Epic and dedicated her life to hunting them down, it seems like she might go by Amber or Emma or Emmy to distance herself from the association. I know that if I lost my family to an Epic, I'd change my name to make it sound less like a fire Epic's. FOUND IT! (sorry about the double post) Perfect. Thank you.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted December 30, 2014 Author Posted December 30, 2014 Wait—before you introduce her, double check with Joe. So far as we can tell, there's only one Reckoners cell in Portland, so make sure to clear adding a second with him before you do anything. (I know he had plans for some of his Reckoners, but I don't know what those were, so you'll probably want to make sure adding a second cell doesn't run afoul of any of those.)
Jo and the Bush all/any Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Mailliw and I are running the Reckoners together. There doesn't seem to be another cell in Portland right now, or Gordon or Rachel would have told Max about them, especially if they were more Combat capable than this cell. So, You could possibly adopt one of the Reckoner NPC's, or we could Recruit Ember somehow. Perhaps she joins the Black Fist Rebellion?
Voidus Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 It would also mean Streetwise really sucks at his job, missing both cells 4
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted December 30, 2014 Author Posted December 30, 2014 It would also mean Streetwise really sucks at his job, missing both cells I stand by my interpretation that he's secretly in love with Rachel and "missed" her cell on purpose. 1
Jo and the Bush all/any Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Winter, I'll add you to the PM.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted December 30, 2014 Author Posted December 30, 2014 Also, mail-mi, when you see this, Timeport's most recent atrocities have been added to the TvTropes page.
mail-mi he/him Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Also, mail-mi, when you see this, Timeport's most recent atrocities have been added to the TvTropes page. Oh no . I'll check it out when I get home.
Kobold King he/him Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 It would also mean Streetwise really sucks at his job, missing both cells I think we can all agree that Streetwise's Moral Event Horizon was realizing in his transcendent state that Red and Nighthound were going to cross paths, but not working his butt off to avert their meeting. Also, mail-mi, when you see this, Timeport's most recent atrocities have been added to the TvTropes page. I've added my two cents to the WMG page. 1
Seonid he/him Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 If I knew how to edit TvTropes, I'd definitely add Ari's unicorn to the Unicorn entry.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted December 30, 2014 Author Posted December 30, 2014 If I knew how to edit TvTropes, I'd definitely add Ari's unicorn to the Unicorn entry. Just make a profile, click "edit page" at the top of the screen, and follow the format of other entries. 2
