Unhinged he/him Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 I just pledged a hundred and twenty dollars for a set of 48 dice that I may never use in a game that I've been playing less and less. So worth it 2
Ed Healy Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 So worth it Agreed. Are you having trouble finding people to play with, @Unhinged?
WeiryWriter he/him Posted January 14, 2015 Author Posted January 14, 2015 Alex did another podcast interview here. They talk a little about the dice themselves, and the story of why it has taken so long to make them again. In MAG news, edits for the skaa supplement are supposed to start in a few weeks and the cover artist is also supposed to start work in a few weeks. They were also originally going to do another FE-era supplement but with the announcement of two Mistborn Adventure books they might do a follow-up to the Alloy supplement next instead. 1
Argent he/him Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 If Kicktraq's prediction holds up, we should hit the 20k stretch goal too. 1
Argent he/him Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 I'm hoping for $24k... It's still possible. Oh, definitely. Especially if more stores pick it up. 1
Windrunner he/him Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Huh, Skaa: Tin and Ash supplement. That's interesting too. 3
Gamma Fiend he/him Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 With 3 days to go, this project has seen a HUGE jump in number of backers and pledges! We've unlocked all 8 of the basic allomantic metals, and less than $3k away from Gold and Atium! I can say that I already went and doubled my pledge amount, and shall be getting 2 sets of dice now! So excited to get these! 2
Crafty Games Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 The last day has been so inspiring. Thanks everyone for your continued support! 3
Gamma Fiend he/him Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 (edited) .....And we are now at less than $300 until 10 Dice!Edit: BOOYA! We have broke $24k!$30k doesn't seem so silly anymore.....Begin the speculation on the designs we can vote for! Probably Aluminum or some of the other Allomantic metals, but I certainly wouldn't mind a choice for a Hemalurgic Icon! Edited January 22, 2015 by Gamma Fiend 1
skaa he/him Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 "Skaa: Tin and Ash", eh? I just might start playing MAG because of this. 2
Crafty Games Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Thank you all! It's so exciting to be able to bring these dice to retail stores around the world, and to get you guys some exclusives as well! Such a wonderful way to usher in the new day. 2
Ed Healy Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 I just posted a new update that lists all the metals that backers can choose from for the Kickstarter Exclusives.
Oudeis he/him Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 I know the first unlock is $30K, but what's the level for the second? ...also not to be that guy but you saw the typo in your email, yes? 100 instead of 1000?
Ed Healy Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 ...also not to be that guy but you saw the typo in your email, yes? 100 instead of 1000? When I posted, we were 100 backers away from 1,000. A little confusing? My bad... Sorry.
Wyrmhero he/him Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 (edited) I think I speak for a load of people in the rest of the world when I say that I would've contributed if it weren't for the extremely high cost of getting my own set of dice. I'm hoping that to this is opened up more to the rest of the world at a later date, as it would be a real shame if we can't get them without buying six times the amount just to cover postage. Ed Healy Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 I think I speak for a load of people in the rest of the world when I say that I would've contributed if it weren't for the extremely high cost of getting my own set of dice. I'm hoping that to this is opened up more to the rest of the world at a later date, as it would be a real shame if we can't get them without buying six times the amount just to cover postage. We really wanted to offer single sets everywhere, but the logistics just weren't there. We _will_ be offering them for sale, on the CG website, after the Kickstarter, though. That way, we'll be able to accurately estimate S&H for each person.
Catalyst21 he/him Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 So I made the pledge ($40) that broke $8k (copper), then upped it to $100 to break $24k (gold and Atium). Now we're over $25k. It will be interesting to see where this ends up. Additionally on December 17th Crafty said: Crafty Games on December 17 Alvron, if we get to $24,000 then we'll be able to add retail packaging. in response to: Daniel Braunstein on December 16 It would be GREAT if they came in a vial, even a plastic one. Alvron on December 16 Do the dice come with a pouch or something similar? So it will be interesting to see what they come up with. 1
Ed Healy Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 So it will be interesting to see what they come up with. Right now, we're looking at a clam shell that retailers can hang in their stores. A good example would be how the FATE dice are presented, here. 1
Catalyst21 he/him Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 So Ed... any thoughts on these posts? James Mathews 30 minutes agoJust to update my previous comment, I'm not necessarily looking for more dice, just some love for the non-retailers who are really pushing this forward. Maybe at $60 and above you also get .pdf's of the supplements to the game? Or how about a kickstarter exclusive if you spend $100+ you can get 1 set made that have inverted colors (silver dice, black symbols), or different colors (black/red)? Thank you!! James Mathews about 1 hour ago Is there going to be a discount for buying multiple sets of dice? As it stands now if I buy 5 sets of dice for $100 I would be receiving 8 sets less than a retailer. By the math you have laid out (~$5 set pays shipping) I am paying ~$25 S&H. Could you add levels for non-retailers such as maybe 4/$60 ($15/set) and 10/$100 ($10/set)? Retailers are getting $8.33/set.... Thank you.
Oudeis he/him Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 If we make $30K, does anyone have any thoughts on how they think they're going to vote for the 11th Metal Die? Personally, I'm leaning towards Electrum, so that all normal metals would be matched pairs, and then Atium. We could go Lerasium because then we'd have both God Metals, but then Gold would be dancing without a partner. Malatium would make a situationally comic choice, 11th Metal, 11th Die. Thoughts?
Kurkistan he/him Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 It's been brought up that a Malatium die was a con exclusive when the first set of dice was released, and so that perhaps it wouldn't do to cheapen both exclusives by re-releasing it.
