Blaze1616 he/him
One feature I've noticed this site is lacking that other forum sites I've used have is a Post Preview button. It is a means to see what your post will look like without having to actually post it to the site for public viewing. I know I would make heavy use of such a feature to discern whether I've typed all of my brackets correctly for s and s and whatnot. It's also a means of seeing whether links you've posted are active, such as if you're trying to make the link take someone directly to a specific section of a site such as: http://coppermind.net/wiki/Odium#Personality versus http://coppermind.net/wiki/Odium. Perhaps this feature was deemed unnecessary due to the existence of the Edit feature, but I know I would make use of it and appreciate it greatly. Edit: I noticed the preview option for the posting a new topic, so I ventured to click the "More Reply Options" and saw that this reply page did have a preview option. So I guess the point of this topic is now to ask why it does not appear next to the Post button at the bottom of the page? To clarify that, why are we making it necessary to click the More Reply Options button to see this? WeiryWriter he/him
We already have that capability, the button is just called "More Reply Options" instead.

Joe ST he/him
That's always been a 'feature' limitation of various message boars software, the quick reply box doesn't support preview, because its meant to be bare bones and is impossible to implement without JavaScript and WYSIWYG horribleness
Chaos he/him
The standard reply box formats the posts for you. It's a What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) editor. So it should automatically be formatted (relatively) correctly in the text box, should you use the editor with the default settings.
