Hoid vs. the lord ruler and the next most powerful person, non shard, in the world

Hoid. Normally, I'm against siding with him in theories. We don't know enough about him. In this case, however, I have a reason. Shardblades are more powerful than most of the powers in Scardrial, but it would hardly harm Hoid. Besides, Hoid is said to have most of the same powers of TLR.

No contest.

The God King might be up there on power levels? I'm not sure how an Awakener with thousand and thousands of Breath would fare against TLR.

Otherwise, as far as high power levels go... I'd go with Jasnah, I guess. Shallan, if she can do the same Soulcasting-at-range trick. Hoid might be too Invested for that to work on him, though.

Hoid. Hoid is, apparently, practically invincible. He claims to have spent the better part of a year being digested. He's immune to Shardblades. Sure, he can't do any direct harm, but on the other hand he might, with some luck, be able to tip things into a rebellion against the Lord Ruler, thereby getting him killed by Preservation's champion. On the other hand, that's rather unlikely. He'd probably never manage it.

Oh, wait. He did. It's debatable how much he actually shaped the rebellion, but he almost certainly influenced things quite a bit, behind the scenes.

Who's more dangerous..an MMA fighter...or Vladimir Putin? One of them can obviously kill you...the other is playing a whole different game...and can still kill you.......

Not to be vague...but TLR is dead...and hoid Isn't...sooo....I'd say that hoid already won this fight...

Couldn't Hoid just walk up to the Lord Ruler, and remove all his metal minds turning him into a pile of ash? Hoid then did not do direct hard.

What do you mean by 'removing all his metalminds'? What magic system are you proposing he'd use?

Well everyone was stating, and from what I believe myself as well is that Hoid has more powers and is more "indestructible" than the Lord Ruler. So he could use whatever ability necessary, whether it be illusion, compounding or etc, to remove the lord rulers atium metalminds. Basically do what Vin did, but easier with all his powers. Hoid is not directly harming the lord ruler, but the lord ruler is still defeated. I was just commenting on the fact that everyone said the biggest limitation of Hoid is being unable to harm anyone, so I was pointing out a loophole Hoid could theoretically exploit.

I'm wondering where everyone is getting this Hoid cannot harm people from. The man basically admitted to being willing to let a whole world burn to accomplish his goals.

Killing people is tame by comparison and may be necessary to accomplish his overarching goal. There is no way he would not kill people, he would just do it quietly.

There's this quote from Brandon

QUESTION
Finally, and most importantly, if all your protagonists had an epic all out brawl, who would win?
BRANDON SANDERSON

Some of them are immortal, but that would kind of be cheating. If you let people who are immortal participate, it's going to very much favor someone like Hoid, who is really, really, really hard to kill. Of course, he would not be very good at offing anyone either, because of certain things in his past. It would be really futile when it got down to the last two. But if we take that out.

Source

And there's a couple of mentions in WoR, like Rock's Lunu'anaki not harming people (I think that's Hoid), and I remember Hoid saying somewhere that he's not good at hurting people in WoR, but I don't have the book on me right now so I can't quote it.

So in a fight like this, Hoid wouldn't kill anyone directly, so he wouldn't win, but I don't think he'd lose either since he's so hard to kill.

To be fair, you can win without killing. A definition of winning is a prevalent theme in a lot of Orson Scott Card's books. It's that to win, you only have to incapacitate your opponents, or at least take away their ability to wage war against you. Hoid wouldn't have to kill anyone to win.
