In all likelihood, it was an epic power.

*gasp* Another Epic!

Waymaker, Somewhat less high above the Alleycity, (He is supposed to be above the Garrison by the way)

He needed to get down somewhere where he was not about to splat on the ground. Gunfire was likely not the best option but he didn't need the best. With an enormous effort of will he screwed himself up to 'port again.

So I want Waymaker to teleport in the garrison somewhere so if anyone wants to rp with that, say.

Reyx hesitated. "My human is still in there, somewhere. I need to look for them. Will you be alright, if you run? Is there a safe place you can go?"

Lux thought for a minute. "I guess I can stay here a bit longer. There is someone I am waiting for."

Fractal! Go try and find Ebon. Ask him what he wants to do.

Alright.

Reyx, New Hallandren, New Hallandren Garrison

"Stay safe!" Reyx called, then darted away into the smoke. Stormfather, I hope they'll be okay. They ducked under a hissing shruiken, flashing with alarm as it struck a nearby wall.

Cayansa, New Hallandren, New Hallandren Garrison

Cayansa slowly backed against a wall, holding out the aluminium rod in front of them. The ground rumbled and shook beneath their feet. Come on, come on...

The passageway they were in branched; hoarse yells came from both directions. Glancing back, they ducked to their left, noticing a metallic glint in the far wall. Copper wiring had been torn loose by a skirmish, and grayed cloth still clung to the wall. It sparked like a miniature highstorm. Perhaps, if they could find a way to channel the electricity...

Midas, New Hallandren, Garrison

Midas turned the corner, just in time to watch Ebon vanish in a puff of smoke. Colors! He was here longer than Midas had expected. Had he not simply assumed the fused would have grabbed the prisoner and run, perhaps he could have made it in time to stop him. Pushing aside that thought, Midas ran over to the cell that the fused disappeared from. To his shock, the prisoner was still there. Bruised and beaten, the Crimson Breath agent was still alive. "What did you tell him?" He demanded.

Suddenly, a shuriken flew past Midas, slicing the agent's throat. Midas swiftly turned to see a cloaked figure in a crimson robe, hand outstretched. By the Colors, the Crimson Breath had arrived.

As fate would have it, so had the rest of the garrison. Units recalled and have arrived at base. Crimson Breath is here, the message came over the comms. Sending a brief reply back, Midas got to work.

Let me know if there was a need to keep that agent alive. I figured that since he was already got to by Ebon, he was a further liability to the Crimson Breath to be alive, given they could still talk to the garrison.

Nope, good move

Apologies everyone for the absurdly long waits

Feel free to have Midas interact with this agent, or just ignore it altogether if you’d like

Crimson Breath Agent, New Hallandren, Garrison

The agent watched the constables turn, reaching down to grab another shuriken. No witnesses. In a deft motion, he flicked it into the air as a distraction, while simultaneously grabbing a third shuriken with his other hand and throwing it directly at the man’s neck.

Ebonaryle, New Hallandren, Garrison

Ebon heard screams and the sounds of fighting in the distance, and tensed.

Storms.

They were here.

He turned back to the girl, and pulled his knife out of his leg. Her eyes revealed fear, but she tried to smile at him.

”They’re coming.”

He growled.

”Then you should tell me everything quickly.” He pressed the blade to her neck, and began to push. She swallowed, and shut her eyes. Then she opened them again, and spat at him.

”I would rather die.”

”If you could, you’d have done so already.” He began to slide the blade, ever so slightly, down her skin. “I know pain. Let us see how long your resolve lasts.”

In the end, it took him less than five minutes. And as he entered his final Jump, prepared to leave the garrison, three words repeated in his head.

The Warbreaker Ball.

Ebonaryle, New Hallandren, Garrison

Ebon whizzed down the halls of the garrison, desperately seeking a way out. He had no heart in this state to thump, but the nerves - and the exhilaration - filled him. He flew past a Crimson Breath agent, who started at his passing, but continued when Ebon did not engage. Ebon could not engage. He was on his last life.

And after all this time, he knew something.

The Warbreaker Ball.

It wasn’t much. But it gave him an edge. He should’ve killed that agent in the cell. Ehh. The one he had just passed would deal with her. He wondered where Lux was. He found he didn’t quite care, anymore. Perses wouldn’t like that. In this moment, Ebon didn’t care about Perses, either.

As he ratcheted around the final corner, entering the final passage before the exit, all Ebon cared about where those three words, repeating in his head again and again.

Starseeker, New Hallandren, New Hallandren Garrison

Starseeker followed, though he tried to remain partly in Shadesmar in case he needed to Soulcast again. It wasn't something he'd anticipated he would need, but he was doing it now, well enough. He also kept track of the Awakeners' positions using his Life Sense.

"Where are we going?" he called to Limel.

Reyx, New Hallandren, New Hallandren Garrison

Shadows darted through the smoke, a bullet shot past Reyx. Crimson figures were almost visible, blurred at the edges by the smoke, and most of them radiated Investiture. A shockwave jolted Reyx to the side from an explosion, and others echoed too, the only sound capable of drowning out shouts and screams.

Damnation, Reyx cursed, moving closer to the Lightweaver and his spren. It would be better to be near someone; they were less likely to be ambushed that way. No ralkalest yet, but the Radiants-

"Duck!" they shouted. The Lightweaver was unlikely to listen, but perhaps the Radiant who had approached earlier would. A moment later, a bullet whizzed past where Reyx had been hovering. "Find cover!"

Almighty, since when have I been qualified to give battle advice?

Cayansa, New Hallandren, New Hallandren Garrison

Cayansa froze as Limel started running, followed by Starseeker, who seemed to recognise where the attackers would be before they struck. The aluminum dug into their palms. A figure in scarlet cloth leapt through the doorway, and from the way Limel flinched, they weren't another member of the Garrison.

Muttering a string of curses, Cayansa ran after Limel and Starseeker, shouting back to Kai. "Come on!"

The aluminum-lined walls had fallen, so they weren't safe from Investiture - wait, the walls had fallen?

Reyx! they called out. Where are you?

"Are you alright?" Reyx called through the smoke. They could still sense the four Investiture sources around them, which hopefully meant they hadn't been injured. Crimson blurs ran through the smoke around them. If one good thing had come of this, at least the smoke gave people a little longer to run.

Reyx! Where are you?

The mistspren's motion stopped, then spun in a cascade of light. Cayansa! Are you injured? I might have found a Lightweaver!

@CoderDrag0n8 @Fizz9

Cayansa, New Hallandren, New Hallandren Garrison

Still following Limel, Cayansa ducked as a shruiken sliced overhead, then another as more and more scarlet-clad figures filled the hallways. What did they want?

I'm alright, they called to Reyx, If somewhat under attack. You've found the Lightweaver? Can you get them to-

I've found a Lightweaver, Reyx interrupted, But I doubt it's the one behind this.

Reyx, you doubted the Fused were at Urithiru for anything other than diplomacy right up until they started killing people. Where are you?

Outside. Somewhere. There are two Radiants and their spren and a lot of smoke, which is obscuring us slightly. I think the red people might be able to sense Investiture.

Damnation. Stay safe, Reyx. I'll try to... Cayansa trailed off, looking around them. Fight? Heal someone? Find their fabrials? Even surviving felt beyond their control. ... Just stay safe.

Gritting their teeth, they ran after the others.

Limel, New Hallandren, Garrison, Screaming His Head Off

Questions deflected off Limel as he led the group racing down passage after passage, corner after corner. Every now and then, they would run into another cloaked figure or two, and be forced to change course. Shutikens flew over his head. No thoughts entered Limel’s head but directions. A left here, a right here… somehow, his legs kept moving, and they stayed in front of their pursuer. Luck blessed him.

But luck did not last forever. The garrison core was a small maze. It was designed to look homogeneous, to confuse intruders. But Limel was sure they had begun here. They reached a fork, turned to the left. And found themselves in front of their pursuer same entrance that the first Crimson Breath agent had blasted open. Limel froze. For a second, it looked like an escape. An open door. Then, like death arriving, a robed figure stepped through the door. The hooded agent turned, inevitable, and through slits in a mask, met Limel’s gaze. He trembled. Footsteps approached from behind him. To his side, Cayansa was trying something with a stick, with a panel. What, he did not know. Limel closed his eyes.

Ebonaryle, New Hallandren, Garrison

Ebon turned the corner, and found himself before the entrance. A Crimson Breath agent blocked it, but he had his back turned to the glowing light that was the Fused. Ebon could slip past him, and then he was free. His exhilaration peaked. And then he froze.

Across the corridor, beyond the agent, stood a man. He was young, and Ebon did not recognize him. Fear consumed his face. His lip trembled. He stood still, his eyes closed. Next to the man was Cayansa. They were poking the wall with a stick. They would die. Pain hit Ebon. This was what he had feared. He forced his attention away. He had seen friends die before. They weren’t even a friend. Just a Radiant. He had killed thousands of them. But they… had been a kind one. Ebon pushed the feeling down, and began to move slowly down the passageway, towards that escape. Light gleamed from outside. It shone through the doorway.

Then he saw Starseeker. Saw Starseeker’s panicked face, saw Starseeker’s curious face peek over the lip of the crater. Saw a friend’s panicked face weep, not scream, as a Radiant stabbed him into the ground. Saw the same Radiant’s face twisted in pain, broken by another friend, who would go on to die so quickly his face would never turn to panic or fear or weeping. He saw the bloodied face of a scientist, pressing papers into his hands, telling him to deliver them.

Ebon tried to push the feelings down, and fly through the opening in front of him. But something within him screamed, and before he knew it, he was reforming, he was falling through the air, instinct filled him, and his knife found a hold.

Silence.

The Crimson Breath agent began to lean, then collapsed at his feet, a bloodied hole in his back. Ebon looked down, then looked up, at Cayansa. At Starseeker.

His face was wet with tears.

He can’t teleport into the actual garrison core (cause it’s lined in aluminum) but we should all be running out soon anyways so just drop him outside on the street somewhere and I’ll find something to do with him or Coder or Ink and Embers will
