I used to say that,

until I realized that the latest I could go is exactly one day before somebody's birthday.

I was wishing you a happy birthday last year

Oh. That makes sense.

Happy birthday!

thanks!

And the best part is it’s on a Wednesday, which means XKCD, Gunnerkrigg Court, SMBC, Questionable Content, and Dinosaur Comics all update! 5 birthday comics!

I wish you many cat cuddling hours, @Through the Living Potato

Thank you! Unfortunately my cat will be with my dad while I’m in Spain, so I’ll have to find a different cat. Fortunately they’re everywhere.

On a side note, does anyone know how to add quotes when you’re editing a post?

As for quoting in edits?

I don't think you're supposed to...

However,

I've found you can quote it normally to get it into the usual text box, then paste it into your edit from there

Welcome back to TLPL.

that’s one of the rules

be gone for less than five minutes, 20000 pages spawn.

be gone for hours, and no replies appear

Cgoz's Law of TLPL:

For short-duration absences, thread activity is within the active engagement window, leading to rapid cascading of replies and the recursive branching of discussion structure. This produces superlinear page expansion driven by sustained user attention, quote-referencing loops, and reinforced posting momentum under the assumption of imminent operator return.

For long-duration absences, the thread enters a dormancy state where the perceived disengagement of the operator produces a suppression of the response probability that approaches zero. Although latent interest remains, the interaction terminates as users turn their attention to other discussions, resulting in an effective collapse of the conversation even in the presence of unresolved or ongoing topics.

Me too! I also sit at my computer at 10 (for me) and repeatedly reload YouTube.

I find it quite annoying that Octavia doesn’t keep Brandon’s posting schedule consistent, it can be as late as 10:10

or a day late a few weeks ago. That was a nightmare.
