You do get the ability to like use the element after consuming it

So like if you consume a blade used by an Adjucator you can use lightning

It has to do with the mechanic. I think that might be cool but there'd need to be changes.

Because Rending is inherent in the person, not the item. The item is a better focus if it has Aeian magic, which is what you are feeding to the Slumber beast. The Rending magic also feeds on the Aeian magic.

What if I could not only steal someone's focus, but if I have enough energy, directly take the power from their body (which could also happen for a lesser price when i am cannibalising them)

also do i just touch the focus and it boom boom bang or do i have to go through a whole proccess? And can the mind controlly guy mind control me or does my superpower count as a power? and what does being an eternal mean?

How about, If you consume a Render, the element release from the beast is a blast of Rending?

You touch it, then the Beast eats it.

Any power means that the mind controlly guy cant mind control you

Being Eternal has a few perks

You don't age past middle aged

You are connected to the rest of the kingdom, and can vaguely communicate with them telepathically

Dreamwalkers have the ability to touch the Chaos inherent in others, and mold it. The effect of this is mostly noticeable during sleep/dreams (bringing out the destructive aspect may encourage nightmares, etc.). But if one suppresses the inherent Chaos enough, a dreamwalker may be able to force others to sleep. 

Another notable technique when a dream walker pushes the creative aspect far enough it will overflow and  manifest in the real world.

Can I release the beast as just the beast without a specific element? Does the beast protect me? Can I call the beast the 'Abyssal Black Flame Dragon' and be a 13 year old named Kim Namwoon with middle school syndrome? (jk on that last one)

How well can I control the beast and is there a world where it gains sentience and becomes my friend? Can I transform into a beast/dragon? Can I become nuclear weaponary? How powerful is said beast? Is the beast my friend? Please can I have the beast be my friend?

Yeah, probably. Some give more power; a Render’s body will give A LOT of power, while a teddy bear will give just a little (barely useable as a focus). The most you can get out of a non-human thing will prolly be from an Adjucator’s blade (lightning infused sword) or a creation from the Artist (depends on the creation).

It depends on what the creation is

If the creation is a source of water, it could be water magic. But the creation can be pretty much anything - it’s important that the things made are made directly from Aeia’s power.

(I wanna preface this by saying this is lore I’ve had in place for like a year so NO IM NOT INFRINGING ON ANY OTHER CURRENT RP IPS)

After the collapse of the Aeian Empire, the lands were fractured. Many still worship Aeia, the Duchess of Light, but some have turned to the First Render, the architect of the Rending, for he sacrificed himself to perform the Great Rending—dividing lands torn by war and permanently stopping the conflicts. Keylan is still a name associated with rumor and suspicion, dubbed the Spider and the Great Evil.

 

“the world was fractured into a bunch of plateaus with uncrossable chasms — shadows separate them, and these shadows kill those who try to cross (there are ways to cross them, but not readily accessible. There’s two people that can. One of them is unaffected by the shadows between chasms by nature, and the other one (the Judge) used methods unique to the Immortals)”

The plateau this takes place on is on the fringes of the Eternal Kingdom, between the Empire of Light, the Corrupt Flame, and this Kingdom.

Your characters would be at least suspicious of the Empire, ambiguous relation with the Corrupt Flame (more commonly hostile than not tho), and citizens (though not necessarily Eternal) of the Eternal Kingdom.

The Eternal King is known to be benevolent (he’s actually the most morally correct character that persists through the eras). Aeia is evil, but generally thought to be very good. Keylan is evil, but lazy for reasons not commonly known. The Corrupt Flame is portrayed as evil, and purposefully acts evil, but is actually a good person. Tricked by Aeia to be her fall guy.

Keylan’s Magic:

Rending ~ shadow magic. Using a focus (certain shapes are better as focuses, seems abstract but there is a reason. Staves and swords are good. Items associated with change (again, a sword) are better focuses as well). With these focuses, they Rend something touching their focus - shattering it irreparably. And I mean irreparably. If the shattered fragments are smelted down and forged, these fragments are significantly more difficult to Rend. Anyways, when a Render rends something, they begin to Rend their focus with each rending, until it is also broken permanently.

They can use their bodies as a focus, and their bodies are the best focus possible, but this is very very dangerous.

Some applications: Touch armor, Rend an enemy from within the armor. I mean what is that a little op maybe but! Certain things resist rending. For example, it’s very difficult to rend a Creation, or anything actively infused with Aeia’s magic, which is actually what makes them such good focuses.

Additionally, Aeia can and would have blessed towns with some minor powers unique to them, so… there a wide variety of things.

If you are “noble” (parallel, but it’s not the exact same system), tho, you will be an Eternal, so you may or may want that.

The problem is, there’s a LOT of lore that I haven’t handled in a very long time (however, it isn’t ALL the lore, because this is only Era 2/3 out of like 10)

We’ll Start From the Beginning

Stuff Your Character Wouldn’t Know but is Important to Explain the Rest Maybe:

Aeia and Keylan come from Era 0, a time when a deity called The Flame ruled the land. The actual person wielding the power of the Flame had future sight separate from that power.

The Flame’s inherent power, tho, was chaos. One eye was Creation, and the other was Destruction, but both led to dark paths. (Pain, suffering, tyranny, etc.) He was able to see this thru his future sight, which did not tell him what would happen if he died. But he couldn’t do anything without satisfying the power of chaos within him.

Small tangent, there is one thing apart from the Flame in this world. This is called the Slumber. It is the essence of pure order. It isn’t sentient, it doesn’t have goals. But it’s a goop usually, or a shadowy gas. A well in one corner of the world was built by the Flame to contain it, and this was successful.

If it touches something, time stops for that thing. It spreads slowly, but the Well, built from the Flames power, is sufficient to contain it.

ANYWAYS

After a while, The Flame took on a small portion of the Slumber into his eye of Destruction (eye of Ash) in order to temper his chaos and preserve the temporary state of balance in the world.

This started to kill him, but saved the world. At the point his power was corrupted, the possibilities of the future branches from one to infinity. That’s not relevant for Era 2/3. But he started dying, and sacrificed himself to give the world a chance.

Eventually, he “died”. His consciousness remained, but he was so very greatly weakened. So two twins (famous knights blessed by the Flame with power, wonder who those could be) set out misguidedly to “save” him.

They went through the Blight, a very dangerous area, to visit the Well. However, when they saw the Flame vulnerable, they took his eyes, which is as close to dead as he could have gotten. Anyways, Aeia got the Eye of Ember, the power of Chaotic Creation

Keylan got the Eye of Ash, the power of Chaotic Destruction, but also got an allotment of the Slumber from this. So Aeia ascended to deity, while Keylan stagnated.

Aeia remade the world, and created her Empire. Keylan stayed at the well, still stuck.

Aeia set up her Blessed Immortals (explained in a blog/post here to KSauce), but then set a few things in motion.

First, she gave a man immortality. He would grow to become the Constant, then the Eternal King. But this was a plan to give those that wouldn’t follow her a place to go that wasn’t hostile to her. I thiiink this is explained in that blog a little bit.

Second, she made the Corrupt Light. A fall guy. She was always paranoid that someone would go to Keylan and get power from her, so she set up this person to be the “evil”. He would rebel against Aeia, and those who rejected Aeia would hopefully join him.

A boy’s family was killed by the followers of the Corrupt Light. He was then recruited, and eventually trusted the Corrupt Light (I have some other writing on this, it makes sense).

Aeia wasn’t satisfied, and her power pushed her to create, so she set up Talaman as another power that stemmed from Keylan. This was Talaman, with complete, permanent mind control over those without magic that he meets. The Corrupt Light and the Eternal Kingdom, which was now founded by the Constant, warred against the forces of Talaman.

The boy recruited by the Corrupt Light (at this point he understood that the actual nature of the organization) set out to kill Keylan when he thought that Talaman was sent by Keylan.

He failed. Really. Terribly, really bad. Keylan immediately overpowered him (and killed his friend), then started to kill him.

But then she saw how he saw her. And she saw what Aeia did.

She was disgusted. She did a sort of like “you do better” and gave him her power. This was driven by the Slumber, which made her want to just… rest.

He became the First Render, leading to what’s in that lore dump up there.

 

Is the Talaman guy still loose? Is this before GSRP1 in the timeline?

Yes, much before.

Yeah, Talaman is loose, but he’s stuck on his plateau. You may encounter one or two of his thrall, but he can’t mind control y’all.

 

This is Era 3, while GSRP 1 is Era 6, (I think)

I thought it would be interesting if they were powerless and constantly uprooting for their safety but that doesn’t work… I’ll need to think a bit more
