TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted December 6, 2014 Author Posted December 6, 2014 "Haha! Look at the two-dimensional character over here!" I can't think of anything off the top of my head. The only thing I can think of would be a reminder not to kill off other people's characters without permission, but that's probably obvious. "Chant with me! Author puppet, author puppet, author puppet!" I'll put that in the Rules and Etiquette thread, along with things like... No god-modding (if you want to write another character's dialogue or perspective into your post, talk to that character's player) Ask to join in one of the Question threads, not in the main RP thread If you know a character's weakness, ask the player's permission before using it Try to avoid double posts in the RP threads; if you have to post for multiple characters, combine their perspectives into one post You don't have to create a pony for all of your characters, but it is encouraged. Don't know if I'll really add the last one or not. And I don't know how much a rules thread is really needed at the moment, since I don't think any of those have been violated, but it might be helpful for future players. 1

Those sound like good guidelines to me. Will there be a separate Rules and Etiquette thread? And when do I get to start the official pony thread? So is What Happened in Calamityville officially dead? "What Happened to Kobold's Credibility as GM" died a while ago, I'm afraid.

If anyone has any rules or guidelines (unspoken rules that we all kind of observe that make the games flow more smoothly) that I missed, let me know. Whenever you can get the link working. Does anyone want to start the official TVTropes thread? Hey, that game was fun. I assumed it died out because October ended, which I found disappointing, because there is no month out of the year that is not suited for reading and writing about a bunch of OP Epics and their pants-crappingly-terrifying adventures. You can ponify your jealous face. I am also quite jealous. Unlike many people on this forum, I have never even seen Brandon Sanderson, much less spoken to him.

At least I'm not the only one who has never met Sanderson. In about thirty minutes I'll have to run errands, but then I'll be back to writing. Today's my deadline for the Portland post--I have Sam's introduction to zombie!Pamela in the bag, but I'll have to work hard if I want to work in a flashback sequence. If not, then Sam's first flashback will be posted before Ms. Trattner drifts off to sleep this night. 2
Lightsworn Panda he/him Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 Nor I, he doesn't come to Australia enough. One day, Great Sanderson will race us puny Australians with his presence. One day In the distant non-existent future . I apologize for not contributing here for the past few days. I've started playing League of Legends, and let's just say that time flies while you're inside the Fields of Justice.

Newan he/him Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 (edited) Did we lose the ability to attach pictures to these posts? I click More Reply Options, and it usually has an Attach Files button, but for some reason it's not there anymore. It's still there in some other threads I've tried. Edit: The attachment button is also missing when I click More Reply Options in other threads in this subforum as well. HOW ARE WE GOING TO ATTACH OUR PONIES? Edit 2: Ok, I actually have a question to ask that requires pictures, so I'm doing it the old-fashioned way (that is to say, the overly-complicated way I posted pictures before I figured out about the "Attach Files" button.) What are the northern defenses like? Where did the Fugitives land, and how difficult will it be to infiltrate the city? I am wondering about the Dalles' wall. It looks like the Dalles is right up against the river. I'm wondering how well guarded they are from the north. At first I wondered if they had just extended the town to the other side of the river, but then I remembered the post about Shiny Sparkle from Dallesport, and how separate it was. So there are two options in my mind. The first is that there is a wall on the northern side of the city, next to the river. If this is the case, the fugitives could have landed where the red arrow is pointing. The wall couldn't have been built right next to the river, or they would be sacrificing structural integrity. However, I'm hoping that's not the case. In my post I noted that they were between the river and the city, but it wasn't like they were right next to a giant wall. The other option is that they just used the river as a natural barrier. If they patrolled the riverside like they patrolled the wall, the river would be just as good at keeping epics out. No need to build a giant wall up against a river if the kind of epic who can jump across a river isn't going to be fazed by a wall anyway. If this is the case, I doubt I would be able to have the fugitives land in that same place. They would have had to land north, above the city where I placed the second arrow. Unless... Unless when the Pandas attacked from the south, it drew most of the patrols away from the north. Then the fugitives could possibly sneak into the city without dealing with patrols. PS are the pandas just attacking from the south, or have they surrounded the city on three sides? Edited December 8, 2014 by Newan 3

(You know, it can be a little hard to remember the game revolves around real cities sometimes. Call me geographically ignorant, but I hadn't heard of Astoria or The Dalles before this RP.)

Call me geographically ignorant, but I hadn't heard of Astoria or The Dalles before this RP.) Me neither. I only knew about Portland and Newport, where my sisters live, and Bend, my ex-girlfriend's hometown. (I really hope they hauled chull out of that state before the events of this RP. Haha) Edit: I've decided that, unless somebody says otherwise, I will imagine the second-to-last picture when I picture the Dalles' defenses. That makes the most sense, and it is the most convenient for the story I want to tell. Also, unless Jain says otherwise, I picture the pandas as being amassed to the south, then also having regiments guarding the three major highways that go out of the city on the Oregon side. This makes sense because they would want to block off the major escape routes from the city, wouldn't they? I mean, the Reader ended up going to the bunker, but what if he had tried to make a run for it? (Also, it would make it a lot more reasonable for a stray arrow to have hit Current Event if there were some pandas northwest of the city by the 84) One more question: how nice are the cars in the Dalles? Is there someone who has a really cool car that the Fugitives could steal? Reader seems like the type to own a sports car. The could just take a random car that belongs to some non-important character, but hey, storytelling is all about conflict, right? Edited December 8, 2014 by Newan

Now just picture Remington at the end, once she's conjured up bowls and bowls of chicken noodle soup and glasses of water, asking, "So why'd you make me come all the way up here again?" 1
