Which I did. I would like to be properly voted out if you decide that you must.

It wasn't a move based on like

It was based on need

To anyone else reading this who is freaked out by my Accusation:

Akimiko's behavior last cycle regarding Penguin is, in my eyes, inexcusable. And even before that, there were hints that pointed at her and Penguin working together. I can pull up more information if anyone really wants it. If we slay a villager tonight, then I take full responsibility.

I am willing to take those odds.

Lord Sart massaged his temple. Lord Markus had apparently gone straight to Elend himself, demanding the death of Lady Cricket. It wasn't the worst accusation in the world. Did he think that Cricket was suspicious? Yes. Her voting record made it hard to trust her. Was it time to pursue that lead? Absolutely not.

Sart was not a fool. He knew how exactly the previous night would play out. He had entreated Lady Cricket to protect him. Even if she were evil, a brazen kill on him would immediately point the finger at her. Therefore, he was not a viable target. Markus had loudly proclaimed that he was protecting himself, whether publicly or privately. Again, any Final Empire Loyalists would seek a different target, if they believed the threat was real. Realistically here was only one appealing option. Lord Kelion was therefore known to be unguarded, and widely believed to be a true reformer. And so, Lord Sart used the man's life as bait. Admittedly, it was a cruel tactic. He was sacrificing a good man, in order to rain vengeance on those still loyal to the old regime. Perhaps he would be cursed in his next life, for trading blood for blood. Still, he stayed the course. He had his Skaa Spies camp out at the home of Kelion, waiting for a Loyalist to do the dirty deed.

He was not disappointed.

Even if there were a 90% chance that Lady Cricket was evil, it was not worth it when they had a 100% guarantee of success.

For his spies had uncovered that only a single person went to Lord Kelion's manor that evening.

Lord Renalis (Bookwyrm)

Unfortunately, things had been thrown into chaos with this Accusation. There was only one logical move for Renalis to do at this point. He would of course throw his vote onto Lady Cricket. With the vote becoming tied, he might slip the noose, and live to see another day. If Lady Cricket was truly innocent, that would be a worst case scenario. Even if they were on the same team, the urge to throw her under the bus would be too great. They now had to rely on Lord Markus's intuition, rather than solid evidence. He prayed that Markus was correct, but did not know if any god would answer him. He took a long draft of his wine. This was going to be a long day.

Oop

Well, shout-out to Sart for that

I’m sorry to tell you, but I think Cricket is dying today basically no matter what

But I promise you this: Once that is done, Booknewt will die

Also by the way, I was at dinner with my extended family, which for some reason I decided to place over the shard. 🙄

That makes full sense, and I'm sorry personal conflict interfered with your performance

I'm not saying you need to be online 24/7; I myself have been guilty of prioritizing other things, all the time. It's normal.

I still think you're elim

I didn't - I forgot and was busy until like 3 minutes before rollover, and yeah. Mondays are not easy nights for me, and this one especially. Sry. I can tonight if people want.

Lord Renalis (Bookwyrm)

Hmmm. That's interesting.

Honestly I have no idea what to make of this. Because I know that I'm not an elim, but e!Sart makes no logical sense. In e!Sart world, Akimiko's village almost certainly - there's no way he'd have a ploy like this if his third teammate was under suspicion as well. But in v!Akimiko world, this would work out very nicely for the elims. There are probably 6 village, 2 elims remaining. Sart would want Akimiko to get voted out to avoid drawing suspicion to him, but either one would work. Four village, two elims remaining. The next day, I get voted out. Two village, two elims remaining. Elim win. If I get voted out, then four village, two elims remaining tomorrow. The day after, Sart gets voted out, and three village, 1 elim remaining. But here's the thing - Akimiko would get voted out that day. One village, one elim remaining. And that would be that. Whoever the third elim is would win.

This seems like some desperate theory of self preservation, or some act of revenge, but it's not. Because in e!Akimiko world, Akimiko would have told the other elims, and the other elims would have noticed a trap. At least if I were an elim I would have - all of you have seen my massive analytical posts, and trust me - e!me would be doing that for kills or something as well. Particularly after Penguin was caught in a similar trap. So the only holdup to my theory is the reliance on v!Akimiko.

But here's my main question about that - There are two reasons why there wasn't an attempted kill on Sart. The first is what all of you are assuming - Akimiko notified the other elims. But what about the second possibility? That Sart himself is an elim, that he knew that Hoid (regardless of alignment) would be pressuring Akimiko to protect Sart, tying up one of the two protections. Sart, as he has said himself, is one of the longest playing players here. Additionally, as condemning as all of the circumstantial evidence on Akimiko seems, that is all it is - circumstantial evidence, that although it is a slight stretch of the imagination, could occur from a new player.

What do you trust more? The person who, out of nowhere, twice has revealed elaborate plans, sometimes waiting a full day to reveal them, who has acted suspicious throughout the game but has suddenly been given a "free pass" through revealing another elim? Or the person who has laid out her thinking in clear posts and has been transparent.

I don't really care if I get exed at any other time. But if I get exed now, there is no way for village to win. See my analysis above. Sart would get voted out, but the third elim would win.

So, even if all of you decide to vote me, there is one thing I ask. Look past Akimiko on the third day after that. Akimiko has been the bait throughout much of this. Sart knows that they're the logical choice to vote. But if you look closer, I suspect that the elim is someone else. If you vote Akimiko then, elims will win. I suspect dp or Ksauce, and will try to do a more detailed analysis so that all of you can at least use that, but don't let Sart's trap work.

With that: Sart.

Wow

I'm going to be honest, I started reading this post expecting something weak and desperate, and I must say, I was thoroughly surprised 😅

THIS is true, and it is scary

But there are some weird things up with it

#1: Why does e!Sart claim to have caught you tonight and not the next night? It's not exactly like he's in danger of dying (if he truly is elim), and all this does is distract from the Akimiko kill (also, lowkey, if Akimiko's village I'm scared village is somewhat screwed anyways cause I could end up on the chopping block)

There is a possibility the above is due to intentionally imperfect elim play to make us read him as village, but it's weird

Like this guy would be folding under absolutely zero pressure. No matter what, he's not under any threat if he just let things play out. MAYBE he's making the claim just to inject some fun into the game, but it's unlikely

And finally, there's the topic of bussing Penguin: no matter what the strategic play is, bussing a teammate under zero pressure is just outright mean unless they ask you to for some reason - and Penguin seemed pissed

I don't really understand this whole section

My evidence on Akimiko is indeed circumstantial

But it's pretty darn strong

I'm sorry, Book

But I've gotta go with

this one

Also, I'd like to make an edit there. He hasn't twice revealed elaborate plans. In fact, if you're talking about his Night claims, he has made one very lucky, random snipe (Penguin) and one mildly strategic play (scanning Ruler/0

So yeah, I'm not standing by your side, despite you doing a great job. Seriously, if you're elim, this is an impressive defense. It's not your fault there's nothing you can do.

ALTHOUGH, yk, since no one's here and the play is getting somewhat boring, I'm going to take my own advice - mix things up, apply pressure - and throw my vote onto Booknewt as well for now

Your move, literally everyone else who's for some reason not here right now

Also, I really wanna RP cause there's so much to RP, but I don't have timeeeee 😭

Lord Markus the Charming strode, knife in hand, to kill a man.

Or woman.

His bloodlust would settle for either.

Yet as victory seemed so close in sight, he was surrounded by ghosts. The courts were silent today. Although of course, he reflected, that was what happened when you killed all those who spoke. Lords KSauce and dp continued their absence, while Sart made another reveal - he was wise, and full of experience, yet Markus couldn't say he trusted the man completely. But he certainly trusted him more than Lady Cricket and Lord Renalis, both of whom seemed almost indisputably evil. It was somewhat funny, when he thought about it.

Of those who took a stand, the good and the bad were equal.

But Elend had listened. As Markus came to him the previous day, Elend had listened, and he had remained silent. Until, at last, when all was done, the man granted him his wish. An almost full faith in his suspicions regarding Cricket, and the tools to indict her. Yet if the King got his way, Cricket would be expelled, stripped of rank, and allowed to roam free. Free, alongside Penguin and who knew how many others, making their next plot to reinstate the order of their dead god. Markus could not allow that to happen.

Turion blamed it on his lack of sleep, said he wasn't thinking clearly, and so Markus had feigned to agree with him and sneaked from his quarters. He had already slept too much, those hours in the middle of the day when the alcohol finally caught up to him. And when he had slept, nothing had happened. Nothing happened without him.

So perhaps he was insane.

He preferred to think everyone else lacked a healthy dose of insanity.

Before his rest, he had approached both KSauce and dp. Neither had answered. The others had all made their positions clear. He would not change the hearts of noble men and traitors.

So he would gut them instead.

Dead men and women could make no plots.

The fall of night felt like an eternity captured in an instant.

One could almost believe the sun set and rose again, as all of Luthadel held it’s breath.

Or at the very least, the few Lords who cared.

Posted

Ahh okay

I doubt anything will happen, though 😔

As the eternity eternity-ied, Markus fidgeted with his blade in the empty council room. The final session of the day was near-approaching - it had been delayed tonight, and the darkness had already fallen, yet it would happen. For the past hour, Markus had waited. For a while - as the sun first began to set - he had been prepared to sneak into another's quarters, and slit their throat. But his sanity had returned, and he was now willing to take a more passive option. But still.

He had no intention of allowing any more conspirers to go free.

Outside, in the dark of night, his attendants continued to search for him. In this chamber, it was peaceful. Serene. It did not yet bear stains of blood or toil. In that, there was something pure here. Yet nothing so pure ever lasted.

Better a stained cloth than a burned one.

Markus could not say he had a special connection to any of the other Lords. After Lyra's death, he had distanced himself, played every side. A centrist, most considered him. He wasn't a centrist. He just never fought. But in this past week, he had abandoned that. He was ready to fight. Ready to kill. Ready to stand.

Ready to win.

Renaris flipped through papers, desperately trying to find something that did not rely on the roll of a dice or would not fail outright.

There was nothing.

All his plans, ruined by a single slip. He should have seen it – he had analyzed every option, thought through the possibilities, and yet had still went with the obvious choice.

Many of these papers were old plans, destroyed by recent events, but some were newer plans, who had been in sequence destroyed. Tiny mistakes, growing into massive shockwaves. Still though, there was a pathway forward.

He would not insult the rest of the Assembly’s intelligence – one way or another, within a few hours his true allegiance would be known. Either by his own discovery and exile, or by Lord Sart’s being revealed to be loyal to this strange new nation. Of course, if the latter, this strange nation might not last much longer. Even without any of his co-conspirators, it might not.

But the armies surrounding Luthadel were far from the ideal. The Final Empire would return, true, or as close as was possible without the Lord Ruler. But neither him nor any of his co-conspirators would have any position comparable to that they had once held within it. No, the only option was success.

Some held the potential to ruin even the whisper of a chance there was now of his and his co-conspirators success. Fortunately, that chance relied on desperate last-minute ploys as the sun sunk behind the Ashmounts and whispered actions not yet known. If he was lucky, those ploys would not have been discovered.

If only he had claimed to have used his political power granted by Elend for something else, instead of the honest truth – he had been so deep in his studies he had forgotten of its existence. Honesty was a dangerous business.

So much of this relied on chance. Renaris didn’t like that. Uncertainty, randomness, particularly when applied to humans, frequently failed. He had been so sure his earlier speech would convince at least one person, but then Markus had disagreed with it and any support had vanished like the mists in the sun.

He stood, looking out at one of the Ashmounts - Tyrian from the window, as the sun sank lower, mists slowly creeping out. The ash was falling again, it hadn’t for a few days. Perhaps it marked a return to the Final Empire. Or perhaps his downfall.

Oddly, even if the rest of the Assembly had accepted that he was loyal to the Final Empire, Elend would still listen to what he had to say if he had managed to earn an Accusation. Perhaps it was a sign of the man’s naivety.

Some might find it odd that he continued to be loyal to the Final Empire – during its existence he had never been fond of it. Yet two things had retained his loyalty – the Lord Ruler had saved the world once, so surely what he did must have some reason behind it. Certainly, the man who had saved the world didn’t deserve death. And second, it had become rapidly clear in the days after the Final Empire’s fall that whatever had arisen in its remnants would not survive long. So, he had found a position of power within it. And waited to strike.

If this new nation was to fall – and it would, any belief it would not was innocence – he had every intention of determining how and when it fell. Unfortunately, with the arrival of the armies, his hand had been forced as to the latter.

So, he and the other conspirators had accelerated their timeline. But that might crumble.

He turned from the window as the sun set fully, bracing for what was to come.

So within an hour or so y’all will know that I’m elim. Not going to try to pretend I’m not atp – it’s 5 seconds before rollover (yes I had a timer), no one can do anything about me saying that (I swear if someone changes an accusation after rollover bc the thread hasn’t been closed I will be TICKED). And anyway, either I get voted out or Sart does. If Sart does, y’all’ll know I’m elim bc there is no possible way Sart is town and I’m town, if I do, well that’s obvious.

Also wow Hoid beating you in word count is HARD (yes I’m counting every word I write). Seriously, kudos for sending so many messages – did not fully appreciate how many you send until I was trying to send more.

So yeah. Dovie’andi se tovya sagain. It’s time to roll the dice. 50/50 chance. We’ll see how this plays out.

Edit: noooooo a family member walked in so I sent it 5 seconds too late 😭

LG109 - Night Three: Multi-use Coins

Vin fell into the courtyard, a peeved look on her face. She was too busy for this political nonsense. And that last batch of alloy had her feeling worse than usual.

Silent as, well, as a Mistborn, she tossed a coin into the air.

It spun through the air. Vin mentally assigned one side to each noble. She lightly burned iron, not to affect the toss, but to track the clip’s movement.

It clattered against the ground. Elend would want to strip the noble of their titles, expel them from Luthadel. Vin couldn't risk them helping the other side.

The coin landed ash side up, condemning Lord Sart. Vin yanked the coin to her hand as the noble started to back away in fear.

She threw the coin into the air and shoved it towards the man's head. She turned before the clip hit. As she walked away, she heard a thud and pulled the coin back. She let it fall to the ground in front of her, stepping forward, and pushed into the sky.

Oh shnap

Sorry Sart

I forgot about the Accusations - exeing an elim was so easy, and yet we still fumbled

But yes, we know who they are

ALTHOUGH we’ve already lost if dp doesn’t come online

@TwinStorm@The Unknown Misting, pinchitter please?

Wait no me we’ve already lost

Unless… KSauce, what political power did you get?

I’m assuming Book got second 😬

Yeah this is low-key like over for village

They have the knife at our throats, and the worst part is we saw it coming and didn’t stop it

Wine and gold.

Ever since Lyra's absence, it was all Markus had ever wanted. Now he drowned in both, as the world around him starved of honesty. As he lay there, soaked, in a pool of his own despair, he considered giving up. Right then. Right there. It was over, wasn't it? Despite all his charms, Lord Markus had only managed to secure a single batch of guards. And he had no way to know who the assassins would target. Him, or Lord Ksauce, bless his quirky soul? Damn the conspirers, Renalis and Cricket. Their sins were laid to bear, and yet somehow, they had still played them all in the end. Damn the King, and his foolish ideals that would now prove his doom. Damn his rusting Mistborn, who had left their fate to chance and executed an honest man. Damn Lord dp, who had fled the court days ago and yet whose presence they still awaited. And damn Lord Markus, the greatest fool of them all.

A light cracked into his quarters, and he rose an arm to block it out.

"Not now, Turion.”

"I'm not Turion.”

The man who slipped into the room was little more than a shadow, yet Markus caught a wisp of white hair and a familiar intonation before the door shut and darkness fell again. He gasped, a sharp intake of breath, and felt a chill run down his spine.

"Hoid?" He straightened his back, lifting himself to try to reclaim a semblance of dignity. The attempt died almost immediately, and Lord Markus felt a pang of shame. How familiar that feeling know seemed.

"Shhhhh," the man whispered softly. "I was never here." Markus waited as he heard the man's footsteps stroll around, the room, crossing to the wall where paintings of the old myths hung, and his voice returned. "Tell, me oh Lord. What has you so put down?"

"We..." his voice cracked, and he sank a little deeper. "We've all but failed. The killers rule our court. They whisper lies into our King's ear, and he listens. We were fools to believe this could ever work. Such fools... but know. We should have known how fleeting our hope was. Yet we were so caught up in relishing it, we did not mind to protect it."

"No," Hoid responded, in a serious tone that surprised Markus. "I am an expert in fools, and you are not one. Not for hope, at least. Yes, you have failed. Do you not think I can smell? But tell me, dear Markus.” Silence reigned. And then broke. “Have you ever heard, perchance, the tale of Sir Werrin the Weak?"

...

Two hours later, Markus stood in a dark hallway. Hoid's words still rung in his head, a head still dizzy from booze. But still he stood.

He had called forth all the remaining Lords to meet here. Here, to settle their fate. Once and for all. By the time dawn rose, either these halls would run with red, or they would all live to see another.

Lord Ruler bless their souls.

I'm bored

Anyone wanna RP?

Yk, before our inevitable loss?

Zinwik approached Markus. It'd been 3 days, but he still wasn't used to being called a Lord. Neither was he used to the lack of non-human species.

Four of the New Lords had been killed by people loyal to what everyone called the Final Empire - these humans and their aggressive tendancies - and one had fled, no where to be seen. That left only Markus and him.

Zinwik was surprised at how much he cared for this city. It was so small, and on a planet that was probably going to be destroyed in a few years anyway. However, Zinwik thought that the humans here may have some hope left, especially those like Markus.

Checking to make sure his translator pin was on, Zinwik said, "If we live through this, and I find a way back to my universe, will you join me?"

Checking to make sure his translator pin was on, Zinwik said, "If we live through this, and I find a way back to my universe, will you join me?"

Markus turned to him, glad to have someone to accompany him in this moment. It was somewhat ironic, that the one he knew least was the one he could trust the most.

So the man was indeed not from this world. Markus had expected something as such, but the truth was still chilling. The reality that everything was so much bigger than they had possibly imagined. But for some reason, the existence of parallel universes didn't really seem like the most pressing concern right now.

"I... I don't know. There are still so many problems here, but... they need someone to solve them. Someone to fight for a better future, because no one else will. I truly hope to see you on the other side of this, Zinwik. But if I do..." he looked around, wistful. Observing in sudden clarity what he had so long ignored. "There is still work to be done here. And if I can, I will spend every last breath I have to see it done." The truth reverberated in his head, and at last, he understood it. It wasn't about winning. It was about trying. Why had he never seen that?

Now it was too late.

Farewell, KaladinsSenseOfHumorSpren

I'll see you on the other side o7
