Hiding Things?

I have a blog that I would like to make private or visible to only me, and I was wondering if Hiding is deletes it or makes it visible to only me.

For your purposes, hiding the blog is deleting it. It's being deleted in a way that can be restored, but it will still be deleted nonetheless. For a personal blog, you can PM yourself. or just use a google docs

Hiding is soft-deletion. We could restore it for you, if you wish, if you hid it. But deleting would make it very difficult to restore, so that is why you will only have Hide rights on the forums. I even instruct mods to not use the actual Delete function unless it's a spambot.

So for your purposes, Hiding and Deleting are identical.
