Drum core International and all things marching band related

Hello im making this post in case there’s someone else out there who shares my slightly niche obsession with DCI (drum core international) i made this so if there is someone else we could discuss our favorite performances of 2025 and just in general as well as predictions for the final scores and just share stuff abt your favorite cores whether you were in one plan to be in one or are just a fan. 
 

anyways I’ll start my favorite core is Carolina crown although I feel their show lacks some substance this year.

My band director hosted a watch party for dci finals last night. I’m glad the crusaders won.

Ooo I hate it when that happens makes it difficult to pay attention to the drill as well

So I kinda did a silly and played a cymbal hit a beat late (drumline was off, cut me some slack), but the rest of pit forgot there was a hit there, and it prompted a conversation with one of the trumpets on whether it’s better to be wrong or not play

Idk why it was even a question 

Like

If you don’t play, you’re automatically wrong. If you don’t know your part (guilty, my sheet music is formatted stupidly and I’m running off memory, I’ll rant some other time) then being wrong and getting corrected is how you fix it!

This is why 90% of trumpets gall me. There are exceptions, but it’s just

“I’m better than you hahaha” *can’t play quarter notes in time*

Makes me wanna scream

Also, yesterday marked the second time a bird got in.

OMG THE SAME THING HAPPENS TO ME BRO not as much during marching season but during concert season the trumpets are always being rude to the French horns and like I get that we are French horns so we’re gonna get teased but if your gonna tease us at least play your music right

And lost one game by less than 50

First game on Thursday cuz there’s no school on Friday for me
