Singworlder They/Them/Their Posted July 11, 2025 Posted July 11, 2025 Hi! I’m Singworlder, and ever since I was introduced to Sanderson by a friend (first era Mistborn), I’ve gobbled up anything of his that I can get my hands on (figuratively). I love Sazed, Wit, Jasnah, Taravangian, and Syl. And I (whaddya know?) happen to exist! I hope this is the beginning of an illustrious membership on 17th Shard. 1

Singworlder They/Them/Their Posted July 17, 2025 Author Posted July 17, 2025 (edited) CoderDrag0n08 and Chips-a-hoid: sorry I couldn’t get to you sooner; I have limited internet access. To answer your questions: 1. I am, sadly, still new to the Cosmere. I have, with all due respect, no STORMING idea what the majority of Dragons are like, save Koravellium Avast, who is not my favorite Shard. That belongs to Sazed, which brings me to the next point. 2. I have not read the Wax and Wayne books, nor do I wish to read of a Scadrial without Sazed, Vin, or Elend as the main protagonists. I know that reading more of Sanderson is always good, but I need more time to recover from Mistborn Era 1. I’m sure Wayne is great, but right now it’s still too painful. 3. As mentioned above, I have limited internet access. In my opinion, an “e-book” or “web novel” is not a book. It is a movie comprised entirely of subtitles. Yes, it can tell a story, but you can’t put it up to your face and smell it, or leave it upside down on your bedside table, or trace the marks your tears left on the pages at the sad parts, or dust off the cover, or hide a secret poem between the pages of your favorite chapter, or watch as the paper slowly yellows, or a thousand other things. Yes, these electronic stories have a place in our world, but that place is a gigaparsec below the real books. (And, before you think that not many people at my advanced age are interested in the Cosmere, know that I am young enough to be used to the idea of IPhones.) 4. Roshar or Scadrial, depending on whether or not the good characters are alive when I’d be visiting. KaladinsSenseOfHumorSpren (what a strange spren! Axies would love to document you; I don’t think you’ve ever been seen before): My six would be Wit, Sazed, Kaladin, Jasnah, Elend, and Taravangian. These aren’t necessarily my favorite characters, or the ones I’d like associating with each other, but they’re definitely the most interesting ones I’ve seen so far. I do love Wayne. And Era 2 is a pretty big part of the cosmere and even has this one really big new peice of information about Era 1 with an acompanying novella. 51 minutes ago, Singworlder said: 3. However. I do not have nearly as much distaste for E-book/Webnovels. If the only way I can get a book is through an E-Book/Webnovel way, then I would gladly take that. (One of my favorite books is a Webnovel). So, I do respect your opinon, however wrong it is. 34 minutes ago, mippo said: Thank you. @CoderDrag0n8 someone needed to say it Comon Mippo. These aren’t necessarily my favorite characters, or the ones I’d like associating with each other, but they’re definitely the most interesting ones I’ve seen so far. Like Coder said, early in WaT (I think it's Day 2) a scene goes something like this: Spoiler Nightblood said that he'd been talking to Syl, and Kaladin asks who else she'd been talking to. "The spren of my jacket? The spren of my shoe?" Syl replied, "They say everything has a spren, but no one has seen the spren of your sense of humor." "Oh please." It isn't plot spoilers or anything, but I'm tagging it anyway. Anyway, your characters. Always like to see Elend on these lists. I really feel Sazed is a little underrated, we'd have some deep philosophical discussions between Sazed and Jasnah. Kaladin's quite common, he's just popular, and so is Hoid/Wit/Midius/Cephadrius/Topaz/Drifter/Dust/Trickster Aspect/Imperial Fool/some_others_I'm_forgetting, but the latter would probably arrive late and leave early, as well as insult everyone while he's there. Taravangian... I don't know what to say. Now, what's interesting is that you didn't invite both Hammond and Rock, who are nearly universal. Only 2 others didn't pick Ham and 1 other person did not invite Rock.

When Vin yelled at Kelsier in the first one I was like "You tell him" bc she was right. Kel needs someone to yell at him every now and again. Not worshipers.
