Personality: serious highly intelligent wants power and knowledge. He plans on starting on institution for gathering knowledge from around the Cosmere.
Powers(because people who aren’t shards probably have them): microkinesis. Manipulating electrons and molecular  bonds. although, I was also thinking that similarly to how Hoid’s Yolish  lightweaving isn’t working the way it’s supposed to in The Way of Kings microkinesis wouldn’t be working at 100% capacity either and might have extra limitations

Planet of Origin: Yolen

Personality: Depending on who you ask, Alph is.... disturbed. To him, there is beauty in death, in destruction, and he revels in it. Before the shattering, he was an artist and philosopher, creating both art and essays on the root of beauty. He's dramatic, he's flamboyant, he's over the top.

@SpiritOfWrath
Name: Rella (Ambition)
Pronouns: She/Her
Planet of Origin: Yolen
Species: Sho Del
Age: 43
Personality: Rella is very very ambitious. Like… kill your superior if you think it’ll get you a promotion ambition. But she isn’t stupid. She’s cunning, and knows when to engage, and when to disengage. She likes to handpick individuals she thinks are suitably ambitious, and just slightly invest them, just slightly help them. So, when the time comes, she can call on them, and they cannot resist.

@al_lan_mandragoran
My character is called Tarsh-Eamon (Honour)
He's a dragon from Yolen, and is one of the original 16.
Pronouns of he/him
Eamon is a dragon, and he is several centuries old. He has seen much fighting in his long life, and has come to hate conflict. However, he still recognizes that sometimes you must fight for what is right. A quirk of Eamon is that he likes to pretend he is not a dragon, going around in human form and pretending to be a mere scholar.

@Through The Living Glass
Name: Alva (Devotion)
Pronouns: She/Her
Planet of Origin: Yolen
Species: Human
Age: 30
Personality: Very loving, kind person. She just wants to help everybody who needs it, and she never abandons them. She's not stupid though, and she doesn't let people use her. She won't tolerate threats of any kind towards herself or others.

@AltonicKeys, played by @ChickenBonanza
Name: Grace Isilyar (Odium)
Pronouns: She/Her
Planet of Origin: Yolen
Species: Yolish human
Age: Old. Like, 70s or more.
Personality: Think old grandma, but the strict and somewhat malevolent kind. Manipulative, possibly. Conniving, even. Like if your grandma went to war, and came back a general.

Rella dove head-first into the pool that was Ambition. As soon as she made contact, her skin began to glow. In an instant, both her and the pool disappeared. Wiping away his tears, Ikaretekeketeraki'nantaríãī stepped into his own pool, Ascending to Valor. Sudowoodoo did a backflip before landing in his, becoming Whimsy. Alph, with a smile on his face, did the same, except he created a dazzling show with his four arms mid-air. His landing produced an explosion of colour before Ascending.

The rest weren't as eager. Gadris, knowing that this had to be done, touched the pool with the tip of his finger. Mascarose stepped forward, his eyes never leaving Grace until the moment he Ascended. Anibelmeth took a deep breath and stepped forward. Turnip suppressed inferior emotions like fear and touched the pool of Reason with the tip of his finger. Andarneoas, with a stern expression, did the same, taking Endowment. Alva simply took a step and became Devotion. Tarsh-Eamon and Eloh Pool, both in human form, dove into Honour and Cultivation respectively.

Only Iairandeshi, Layke, Shalta and Grace remained. The ground beneath them began to tremble as cracks appeared, separating the four of them. Shalta contemplated what they'd done in killing Adonalsium.

"I have everything figured out," Layke whispered to himself, before taking Invention.

"Go on, you two," Grace urged after Layke had left. Iairandeshi hummed to Anxiety, before attuning Resolve. She nodded to Shalta, then took Ruin. Shalta sighed before taking Preservation.

Grace, the only one remaining, had already come up with a plan. She leaped forward, Ascending to Odium above a crumbling world.

All 16 of them must flee.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Grace is going to be even worse than Rayse, I think.

Shards, you must either:

  • Stay behind as Yolen shatters
  • Settle a world
  • Stay somewhere in interstellar or interplanetary space
  • Explore beyond the current star systems

Remember, the Shard's Intent hasn't had too much of an effect yet. However, the power will likely interact with the Vessel.

@.....you can do whatever you like in Shadesmar. This is going to be the first day or so post-shattering, until further notice.

Remember, non-RP text in quote boxes or spoiler tags.

Begin!

As Alph Ascends, he feels his mind expand, the rush of Artisty- of Virtuosity plunging his mind into the tides of glory. He feels himself stretch towards the heavens, his body being annihilated as power binds him, as a conduit,  as a Vessel.

Time slows as his awareness grows. There's so much more to the world than he ever could have thought! Axi with bizarre properties, Colors that mortals can't see, and a scope to the cosmere- it's smaller than he expected. And along with that understanding comes power. So much power. Alph knows he could destroy the cosmere. He won't, of course. Not yet, at least. He pauses for a second, peering inward at the spiraling infinity. During his ascension, he appears to have transitioned to the spiritual realm, where time and space merge into a single point. He can read the future here, at least the possibilities of one.

Go. Create. Command Splendor. His power demands. Who is he to deny it?

And so he spins off, searching for a blue giant star, preferably in a system without any terrestrial planets.

In the spiritual realm, the God of Art smiles. If those who knew him best could see it, they'd be worried.

Spoiler

I'll do Andarneoas soon.

My character is called Tarsh-Eamon (Honour)
He's a dragon from Yolen, and is one of the original 16.
Pronouns of he/him
Eamon is a dragon, and he is several centuries old. He has seen much fighting in his long life, and has come to hate conflict. @Through The Living Glass
Name: Alva (Devotion)
Pronouns: She/Her
Planet of Origin: Yolen
Species: Human

@AltonicKeys, played by @ChickenBonanza

Gadris stood before a glittering crimson pool of power. He could feel the it calling to him. He reached out his hand and… sensation. An explosion of sensation. His entire body blazed as if he were being set alight. Hundreds of memories assaulted his mind, driving him to the ground. A young man beaten and broken lying on hardened rock. A child, dead by a slaver’s hand. A man fleeing through the wilderness. The ecstasy of love. The agony of loss. Then, clarity. An overwhelming sense of purpose. I will bring freedom to those in bondage. I will grant them Autonomy. He glanced down at himself or… what was left. He no longer had a physical body. There was only a pool of shimmering crimson power and a sense of expanded awareness. He could remember centuries of history, access knowledge no mortal could comprehend, and see worlds billions of miles away. He could still remember his old life, but now there was so much more. And there was a companion, a part of his very soul. It was the power he realized. The power of Autonomy. Come. It whispered. Our work is just beginning. And for the first time in many years, Gadris felt an intense sense of hope. Now bound as one, Gadris and Autonomy departed the broken world of Yolen, vanishing into the darkness of space among the glittering stars.

@al_lan_mandragoran still wanna meet up to make Honor/Autonomy Scadrial?

Andarneoas steps into shimmering mist. Oooh think of all the pets I can adopt! She thinks excitedly. Then she frowns, she's supposed to be a goddess and a noble dragon, not like the pets when she gives them a present! Oh well. Who will stop her? She'll lavish them in gifts!

A GIFT FREELY GIVEN. The voice of her power thunders. IS THE BEST KIND OF GIFT.

Andarneoas goes off to threnody, to adopt those adorable little ghost people.

Yesn't. Shades as we know them, no. But I suspect, since the system is older than the shattering, a basis of that system existed. Like, rituals to make your ancestors cognitive shadows and get their wisdom.

It called to him.

He resisted, for a moment. For Mascarose loathed the idea that he might be commanded by this power, which he himself had earned. Only when it stilled and acquiesced to quiet reprimand did he take it upon himself; his birthright. He stepped into it—

And Ascended to godhood, becoming…

What was he, now? A god, yes, but the mind Mascarose had not died. Changed, yes. Greater. He transcended the Realms, could see deeper into the Physical than any microkinetic, he understood implicitly the Cognitive greater than any Sho Del or dragon.

He could see time. The Spiritual Realm was home to the echoes of all that was and would ever be. Mascarose watched. Watched himself. From the moment of his birth to the very moment of Adonalsium’s death. It hadn’t taken a moment.

He was a god, then, for there was no other term to describe it. Of rule. Dominance and control, for that was what his power longed for, even now.

Mascarose silenced it. Any god that cowed to base instinct—even divine in nature—were simply not. He would do as he wished, and for no reason more. Mascarose Sant Sommer, he decided. Eternally myself.

He wished, for a moment, to look upon Yolen with mortal eyes, and he did. His own body floated precarious above the planet of his birth, dying. A waste, he once more reiterated to himself. A twinge of disappointment to lose a planet with such potential, and no other feeling, for such was beneath the dignity of a god.

Mascarose turned from the monumental presences of his former companions and left, forever.

Yolen was gone. Perhaps it would return, in altered form, but he had no interest in that. He would find something similarly suitable, soon enough.

Spoiler

This suitable something would be the planet Alaswha, perhaps in a very specific future to be known as Ashyn.

The Lady Grace Isilyar shall come soon, in a bit. She’s patient, anyway.

I would like for you to lend me some of your preserving power. That way, we can, together, save the system from destruction. I need this power to cultivate this planet back, preserving it's original form

Could an aspect of God be foolish?

An odd thought, for it was oft considered an aspect of man to see not the future with clarity. Some gods, however, mirrored well the follies of man.

It was one thing to be driven by emotion, by hatred and vengeance, joy, misery. These things could bring one to the greatest of heights, so long as they were not ruled in totality by feeling. Longing drove men to thrones, but consideration won them.

Grace Isilyar, for the first time in years, felt like she might lose control. She had drawn into herself emotion. All emotion, never slowing or ceasing, wanting always to be assuaged by immediate action.

Anger was the strongest. The urge to lash out as she always wanted, to break each and every potential foe. That would not do. It seemed the aspect of emotion did not care in the slightest to regulate.

Grace found herself in the Spiritual Realm, reading the great web that encompassed all worlds. Ignoring, completely, the churning maelstrom of power attached to her newly expanded soul.

Go! Now! the fading voice of the dependent Shard whined. We must move!

Grace had tutored and advised many, throughout her long life. Her guidance had seen to the rise of warlords, kings, and assassins alike. Grace had silently vowed vengeance for slights and betrayals, and never once failed to see a vendetta through. Her victories had never come by impulse.

Why? Grace asked, separating, in part, the Intent of her power from her calculating mind. What is there to do?

Confusion, it returned to her, as it struggled to muster an answer before discarding the idea completely. Anger pulsed through Grace once more, as if it could drive her to lash out so soon. Destroy!

Wordlessly, Grace searched through the history of Yolen, and found quite swiftly just what she was looking for. Countless in number were those who had been brought low by passion unrestrained. Ah, Grace said, as if finally understanding. You mean like this?

A despoiler, whose acts of violence and plundering brought fear and suffering to many nations. A military coalition placed his head on a spike.

Or, perhaps, like this?

An adulterer, who enjoyed the touch and company of any who caught his eye. Driven out of his hometown, after his many lovers caught on.

A thief, who took an opportunity to betray his crew for a greater sum of wealth. The lone survivor found him and left his body to rot.

Why, they acted just as you wish to, did they not? Grace asked, to which the power silenced. Do you wish to end up like them? Many of the others would take any excuse to kill me, and Shatter you as we did Adonalsium.

Then, Grace would find a new thread of history. Following a young woman, scorned and doubted, as she cajoled, blackmailed, seduced, and murdered her way to ever greater positions of power and influence.

You know me better than most, already, Grace thought. You’ve felt that which I’ve kept hidden.

This is not what I had wanted from you, the power complained.

Of course it is, Grace countered, peering deeper into the mind of the young woman she had once been. Anger, she felt. Envy. Never once did it cease, even as the woman smiled and bowed and scraped and lied. This is why you chose me. Because I understand these compulsions, and you do not. If you wish to elicit and act upon emotion, I shall teach you the proper way to do so.

Like it was a petulant and ignorant child, Grace would lecture the infant aspect of God on everything she knew of emotion and its control, in the hopes that it might rise from a slavering beast into something nobler, to better embody its royal color of gold.

If not, she could find many uses for a caged monster.

Spoiler

I hope this is not too presumptuous a course of action. But, I do not believe Grace would be content to continually grapple with a power that is so… inherently reckless. She wished to turn it into something of slightly more patience, or else find an equilibrium of control and carefully guided outburst. Whether she will succeed is, of course, uncertain.

In a way, I think Grace and Mascarose both view the engrained Intent of their Shards with some amount of disdain. Mascarose, because he will always resist outside influence, even if it happens to perfectly align with his immediate goals. Grace, because she knows that emotion is best when it is wielded, not wielding.

Spoiler

Grace shan’t go anywhere, for now. Merely hang out in the Spiritual Realm with Odium and watch what the other Vessels do. She’ll act as soon as she has a good grasp on what the others plan to do. (Is the plan for now.)

And Anibelmeth Ascended. The pool of power rushed into her, and she gasped as she could feel her mind expanding, flooding with new capabilities. She grasped the power and took it more fully into herself, even as she could feel her body decaying below. And now, to the Spiritual Realm, and still the torrent of power would not cease. Until, eventually, it slowed to a trickle before stopping, the Ascension completed.

Anibelmeth left Yolen. The power did not like that; it wanted to help the dying planet, but it could be ignored. She was in charge. Slowly, carefully, she tested her new capabilities. She could move, create, destroy, and change. She could see far, far away, and still know all of the fine details. But most importantly, Anibelmeth could view permutations of the future.

She looked, and saw the other Shards of Adonalsium, each moving and claiming planets of their own. They would rule them as gods, no doubt. And she hated them for it. Couldn't they see they were immediately becoming that which they had worked so hard to destroy? Which was why Anibelmeth was irked when she came to the conclusion she would have to do the same. Yet her hatred could not last, as she pitied them for that which they would be put through. Their pain, and her own, was inevitable.

And so, Mercy (for she was Mercy in this aspect) searched through the Cosmere for a planet, unclaimed by the others, that would be suitable for life.

Manipulating electrons and molecular  bonds. although, I was also thinking that similarly to how Hoid’s Yolish  lightweaving isn’t working the way it’s supposed to in The Way of Kings microkinesis wouldn’t be working at 100% capacity either and might have extra limitations

Age:27
Personality: likes sleeping. Pretty much a human sloth

@SpiritOfWrath

@al_lan_mandragoran

@Through The Living Glass

@AltonicKeys, played by @ChickenBonanza

Mascarose Sant Sommer, he decided. I am who I am.

Quote

Please no blasphemy - "I am who I am" is the covenant name of God (Yaweh/Jehovah - and no I'm not a Jehovah's witness, I'm a free reformed Christian)

Tarsh-Eamon felt the power sweep him up as he ascended to godhood, and it was bliss.

Behave with Honour, the power whispered, as his mind expanded and power like he had never known coursed through his body. He could feel his very substance becoming more and more connected to each of the Three Realms, and his vision broadening until he could see down multiple paths that the future could take. Not all futures were visible, and some were less visible than others. When he looked at the other members of the Sixteen, his sight distorted, and he could only see minimally into the future. The scholarly part of his brain had an answer for that - because the other shards all had such incredible power, as much as he did, their actions weighed heavily on the future, and made it all but impossible to guess what they would do. He could, however, see the Intent of the power they held. The one that worried him most was Grace. He hadn't known her very well before shattering Adonalsium, but he had quickly realised that she was conniving, manipulative and brutal. I will need to keep a close eye on her. And Macarose, ever arrogant and controlling had taken the Shard of Dominion. He would be very dangerous.

I need an ally, he decided.

What about Lendrel? The power asked. He has shown honour in the past - he will make a very good ally.

Agreed. Eamon sent his mind out to Lendrel, who had taken up the Shard of Autonomy. We need a plan, he said. I don't trust Grace or Macarose - there will be conflict before this is all over. Will you join me?

Begin!

She went to a nearby space.

Species: Singer
Age: 16 (when they took ruin)
Personality: She is/was bubbly and enthusiastic, but also had a slight pyromaniac/likes to destroy things stage when she was 13 and kept a bit of that enthusiasm, probably the worst pick for ruin of any of the 16.

@ThatOneWorldhopper
Name: Ikaretekeketeraki'nantaríãī (Pronounced exactly how it's spelled)*shortened name (Valor)
Planet of Origin: Yolen
Age: ××××loooooooooooooong time.
Personality: solemn and wise. Tempered by the horrors…
Species: Dragon
Pronouns: He/Him

@SpartanBrigade
Name: Lendrel Arkhanhal (Autonomy)
Pronouns: He/Him
Homeworld: Yolen
Age: 23Personality: Lighthearted but beneath it all deeply calculating, has a strong moral code. Formerly enslaved, eventually murked Adonalsium with everyone else since he wasn’t a fan of God being chill with such things.
Species: Human

@ChickenBonanza
Name: Mascarose Sant Sommer (Dominion)
Planet of Origin: Yolen
Pronouns: He/Him
Species: Human
Age: Late 20s
Personality: Callous and pragmatic, one whose goals and thoughts ofttimes align solely with his own interests. He is by no means incapable of caring for others, but keeps himself always distant, as if embittered by events of long ago. Those few who happen to enter his confidence are those who continue to benefit from that which benefits him.
An exiled princeling from what would later become a maritime republic. One who enjoyed a youth of wealth and grandeur. Having been ousted before entering fully his adulthood, Mascarose came to desire a return to his original lifestyle and the powers of rulership, something he has come to see as his birthright.

@Ashkaloda
Name: Anibelmeth (Mercy)
Pronouns: she/her
Planet of Origin: First of the Sun
Species: Human
Age: 36

Planet of Origin: Yolen
Species: Human
Pronouns: he/him
Age: doesn't know, adult
Personality:  depends on the weather but typically very happy and optimistic

@.....
Name: Encephelous often known as Ence
Planet of Origin: Yolen
Pronouns: He/Him
Species: human
Age: 34
Where you were at the time Shattering: in the cognitive realm looking for other worlds, the Rosharan Subastral.

@Dragonheir
Name: Layke Nesson (certainly did not garble necessity-son to get that last name) (Invention)
Pronouns: he/him, though as a Shard they’ll probably change to neutral
Planet of Origin: Yolen
Species: human
Age: 32
Personality: smart and iterating ideas, eccentric and dependent on routine, friendly and willing to do what’s right, ambitious and jealous of those who get power with no effort.

Notes: weak microkinetic, using it mainly for his chemistry/apothecary/alchemy work rather than in combat. Knowledgeable about atoms and forces, since he can see them. Physically rather wiry, but with prep time can ruin your day using conventionally prepared explosives. Without preparation, though, he freezes in situations he hasn’t thought about.

@Argenti
Name: Alph (Virtuosity)
Pronouns: He/Him
Planet of Origin: Yolen
Species: Sho Del
Age: 27 (How long do Sho del live?"
Personality: Depending on who you ask, Alph is.... disturbed. To him, there is beauty in death, in destruction, and he revels in it. As any true artist would tell you, the act of destruction is just as important as the moment of creation. Before the shattering, he was an artist and philosopher, creating both art and essays on the root of beauty. He's dramatic, he's flamboyant, he's over the top.

@Wyver the Great, played by @Argenti
Name: Andarneoas, or Andarna for short. (Endowment)
Pronouns: She/her
Planet of Origin: Yolen
Species: Dragon
Age: Unknown
Where you were at the time Shattering (are you one of the sixteen or were somewhere else?): One of the 16
Personality: Was/is merciful, kind, but sometimes has a certain view on regular Humans- as if they are just little playthings. Is influenced heavily by her Shard.

@Tinwatcher
Name: Turnip (Reason)
Pronouns: He/him
Planet of Origin: roshar Species: singer
Age: A lot (17 durring the shattering)
Personality: values knowledge and clarity , sees emotion as a nuisance, insincere

@Spark of Hope
Name: Shalta (Preservation)
Pronouns: she/her
Planet of Origin: First of the Sun
Species: human
Age:27
Personality: likes sleeping. Pretty much a human sloth

@SpiritOfWrath

@al_lan_mandragoran

@Through The Living Glass

@AltonicKeys, played by @ChickenBonanza

Begin!

Turnip contemplated whether to settle on a planet or to wait to see who settles where. On one hand settling a planet might ward others off but could  result in war causing a second shattering. He could travel space, but he might run into someone, resulting in a second shattering. Turnip decided to head to Roshar
