The Full Cosmere Restarted RP has full Cosmere spoilers, including WaT. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Let's rewind everything all the way back to the Shattering. Except this time, nothing Invested exists apart from the newly created Shards. The only exceptions are spren, highstorms, Rosharan fauna that bond spren, Shades, Aviar, and the other fauna on First of the Sun.

You get to take the place of one of the 16 who have just killed Adonalsium (again). Or you can be someone else.

Star Systems:

  • The Rosharan System - Ashyn, Roshar and Braize.
  • Scadrian System - Scadrial itself does not exist. The gas giant Aagal Nod appears to have 6 major moons, all of which can become their own Shardworlds. Aagal Uch has four moon that you can settle. To make things easier, I'm calling the star Scadaria, and the two dwarf planets Scadaria D and Scadaria E.
  • The Selish System. Donne, Sel, its moon Oem, the four moons of Ky, and the four of Ralen.
  • The Threnodite System. Monody, Elegy, its moon Coronach, Threnody and Purity.
  • The Drominad System. First of the Sun, Second of the Sun, Third of the Sun, Fourth of the Sun, 3 moons of Fifth of the Sun, 4 moons of Sixth of the Sun, and 4 moons of Seventh of the Sun.

I'm not going to touch the Taldain, Nalthian, Lumaran, or UTolian systems for now.

In green are confirmed habitable planets. Blue are planets in the habitable zone but may or may not be habitable. Red are terrestrial planets outside the habitable zone. All gas giant moons are too cold and require Shardic intervention to make habitable. It is unknown whether Donne, Monody and Elegy are habitable.

For all the planets we haven't seen on page - we can make it up! It's worldbuilding time! I might create another thread for that.

Character sheet

Name:

Planet of Origin:

Species:

Age:

Where you were at the time Shattering (are you one of the sixteen or were somewhere else?):

Personality:

Species-wise, I'm accepting Humans, Sho Del, Singers and Dragons. We don't know much about Sho Del and Dragons, but some Spec. Bio. can fix that. I'll accept Yolen as Planet of Origin, and is the only accepted planet for Sho Del and Dragons, but you cannot be at Yolen when the Shattering happened. We know too little about the planet and I'd rather not worldbuild this one. Humans may come from Yolen, Ashyn or First of the Sun. Singers may only be from Roshar.

The RP starts once we have the 16 Shards. Signups will still be open for more characters.

Name: Anibelmeth

Age: 36

Where were you at the time of the Shattering: One of the sixteen (Mercy)

Personality: Serious and commanding, but friendly. Always looks at the bigger picture.

Even if your character doesn't know, how old are they? Are they an adult?

Magic systems will depend on which Shards settle which planets, so it'l be later.

Also, I forgot to put pronouns on the character sheet. I added them now, but I need the pronouns of your characters. Also, @CoderDrag0n8, I need your character's original name.

Personality: serious highly intelligent wants power and knowledge. He plans on starting on institution for gathering knowledge from around the Cosmere.

Powers(because people who aren’t shards probably have them): microkinesis

also, if we’re trying to create a version of the Cosmere, are we just doing right around the time of the shattering or are we going to jump into the future in sections? Or something along those lines? Just wondering how that’s gonna work

Ooh fun! Invention sounds like a really fitting Intent for me to play, though I’ll take any Shard.

Spoiler

Name: Layke Nesson (certainly did not garble necessity-son to get that last name)

Pronouns: he/him, though as a Shard they’ll probably change to neutral

Planet of Origin: Yolen

Species: human

Age: 32

Where you were at the time Shattering (are you one of the sixteen or were somewhere else?): one of the sixteen, helped put together the plan and any contingencies

Personality: smart and iterating ideas, eccentric and dependent on routine, friendly and willing to do what’s right, ambitious and jealous of those who get power with no effort.

Notes: weak microkinetic, using it mainly for his chemistry/apothecary/alchemy work rather than in combat. Knowledgeable about atoms and forces, since he can see them. Physically rather wiry, but with prep time can ruin your day using conventionally prepared explosives. Without preparation, though, he freezes in situations he hasn’t thought about.

Accepted, although I feel like we don't know enough about microkinesis, like how its powered. Which subastral where you in?

Initially, it'll be the post-shattering chaos, and after that we could have century-long turns, until technology gets advanced enough across many planets or the Shards start a large-scale war. In both cases, the turns will slow down to decades or years.

Also, pronouns?

Again, I don't know if microkinesis is a good idea... good, other than that.

Personally, I would consider Microkinesis to be fine, at least in the case of Shards-to-be. Doesn’t really matter how something works if they gain a power to eclipse it in all ways a thousand times over, right? Serves well as something to flesh out a background, I think. (Along with other Yolish powers.)

For non-Shards, it’d be more of something to discuss, if you don’t want to use Microkinesis as it is presented in Dragonsteel Prime without scrutiny. Even if it’s overpowered—especially, really—I think it would serve to enhance the abilities and mystique of would-be Hoid-like characters. GM’s choice, though.

(Also, I’ve added pronouns to my character-submit-post thing.)

Agreeing with ChickenBonanza, Dragonsteel Prime probably portrays it as more powerful than it should be, but I’d set up the character such that it won’t be used in combat, but rather for the passive observation of particles. If you really don’t like it, though, I can take that out.

It’d probably be best if we established whatever missing rules and limitations we need, so that it could be used in future without worry, would it not?

Good idea.

So, how should microkinesis be powered? The coppermind page doesn't say anything.

Ideas I have:

  • Makes you very tired, to the point you fall asleep after a few uses
  • Drains your water supply, like aethers.
  • Requires a lot of concentration, so no mortal could do it for too long.

That's all I could think of. Any more ideas?

The Coppermind only gives us the canon sources, which we don’t got too much for. Not even an overview of how it’s used in Dragonsteel Prime on its own non-canon page. In Dragonsteel Prime, however, Microkinesis is not necessarily ‘powered’ by anything specific. Like how an individual muscle might not be ‘powered’ by anything, but instead draws from the vague well of energy that is your body. (I don’t know, man, pretend it makes sense.)

People do, however, display signs of exhaustion after doing intensive displays of Microkinesis. What ‘intensive’ means varies with the natural talents of the user. One person may find manipulating light to form illusions rather easy, while another might find making a small object invisible a matter of intense effort. A similar phenomenon is seen with destruction and forced growth. Even so, using Microkinesis in the way you have most affinity for can leave you unsteady on your feet. (Though manipulating light would probably fall under the purview Yolish Lightweaving instead of Microkinesis by today’s standards. Unless we consider Lightweaving a facet of Microkinesis, but that’s probably not it, I’d think.)

I think these two are the closest to what we we see, and are probably best for our purposes. With the added addendum that, while Microkinesis might have a broad variety of effects and style of use, it is most common for a user to be most potent with a single or a few facets. Other uses beyond that focus might then be possible, but not to any particularly useful degree.

’Seeing’ axi did not seem to be an energy intensive task at all, and should probably be something any Microkinetic could do for nigh indefinitely.

I’d say that, if a character were to be a Microkinetic, that their overall level of strength and what they can do with Microkinesis to be a must-have to include. (Can you destroy things? Cause growth of organic substances? Light? Heat? Exert a general force? Shift around a material, like with Stoneshaping?) There’s probably a lot of options. As long as people don’t go around making nuclear bombs or disintegrating people with a touch.
