Alcohols effect on sand mastery

 Why does alcohol effect sand mastery? 
is it just because alcohol dehydrates the body, or is it what i think that the user loses autonomy over themselves when inebriated. 
i dont much about autonomy mistborn era 2 kinda confused me but i think could be possible especially because of the way other shards respond to people violating the shards personallity/name.

Most likely the former - because the Bond (likely Luhel) requires hydration, and alcohol dehydrates (ish - more it simply fails to hydrate and drinkers fail to account for the difference). I would actually disagree with your second hypothesis - if anything, it seems like Alcohol would increase a person's Autonomy (as they more readily act on instinct and ignore inhibitions learned from other people/cultures/beliefs).

What I figured was the water is being used as fuel and is being passed to the sand. If you drank alcohol that would get passed to the sand making it “drunk.” So if you were making a straight line with the sand then it might wobble or curve.
