Question

Posted

I'm currently reading RoW.

I planned to read tLM and the secret projects first, and only then WaT, but I understand that the secret projects will make more sense (and less spoilers) after WaT. Because chronologically tLM takes place after WaT, should I read it afterwards as well? (I already know the identity of Thaidakar, so if that's the only reason to read tLM beforehand, I think I'll read WaT straight on.)

I would recommend The Sunlit Man after WaT and TLM (I read it before and wish I had not), TLM should be after RoW at least, but it is personal preference if you want to read it before or after WaT. Either order will have at least one unanswered question or "eyebrow moment" that is informed by the other work (not necessarily answered, just additional data). Neither work spoils the other (unlike Thaidakar in RoW being spoiled by TLM). The other SPs (Tress and Yumi) are also personal preference - in my connections/EasterEggs/Spoilers list, I have:

I do personally recommend reading all the secret projects and TLM before WaT, but I've heard it done both ways. There is one specific thing in the Sunlit Man that I personally recommend having read before WaT. It doesn't really matter though and all has to do with personal preference.
