She wasn’t uncomfortable with the sample and had tried to run. She had been caught by guards and brought back. Every word spoken by the scientist was stern. The girl reluctantly sat.

She chuckled. After climbing a flight of stairs to the top of one of the tanks, full of a translucent blue liquid, and squeezed the syringe into it.

Dolly waited, determined not to break. Nothing about this was right. She wasn’t supposed to be here. No one should have been in a place like this, but then, this lab was a symptom of a broken world. I sound like Dad…they will not break me. I’ll do what I’m told. That’s all. Do what you’re told, they’ll let down their guard, you’ll get out.
