“Carrot and the stick,” Dolly mumbled. “I shouldn’t be surprised.” She thought for a moment, then took the mask towards the thing below. Not thing. Creature. Person? No. Definitely not a person.

But would they have cut it?

otherwise, it’s past her waist and in many tiny braids. If they took out the braids, she’ll have been redoing them just while standing.

heehee not really relevant but I’m mourning that my hair isn’t long enough to have a few random itsy bitsy braids hiding in it and it’s a fun detail :D

Dolly swallowed again, feeling her stomach rebelling against her orders not to vomit. She’d never been good at this stuff. “Right. Of course. How long will it take?”

“You mean it’s going to talk like a person? It won’t…it won’t be me. Right?” Dolly stared at the creature below, caught between fascination and disgust. It was a monster. It was innocent.

It was…human?

The duck just promptlly sat there. Vtras found she liked being a little fluffy duck- and of course, speaking duckspeak was fun too.

“Oh?”

She licked her lips, trying to figure out how to articulate it. Any of her family would be better at this than she was. “Creating a person like that. What do you do if it’s not what you want, kill it? Life isn’t something to be played around with.”
