He paused. “I would caution you, though. The further you see, the less accurate it will be. Imagine it as a circle. If the circle is small, if you aren’t looking far into the future, then there’s not as much as a difference between points on the circle. But as the circle increases in size, points that were just a centimeter in distance might become a kilometer in distance.”

“Yes, and no. Okay - think of it like this. When the Flame died, it wasn’t there to keep everything in order - the circle expanded. But when he came back to life, he bound all these back together. It didn’t particularly work, but that isn’t the point. You trace the different timelines to his re-emergence, and then… well, it’s all the same event. All those timelines, you just get one at random.”

“One application of the big two. That is immediate foresight - look into the future. Even though the Flame is dead, some force from it guides your vision to the most favorable outcome. The closer it is, the easier it is to recreate.”
