Cye was forgetting that Te had told them they need to traverse the Blight.

Cye did not forget, he simply figured that they didn’t want to be charged with a crime if someone discovered the people in the building. He also figured that the Flame’s guide could find them anywhere so they may as well get the heck out of there.
