Hang on - the bond has been renewed, for now. You might be renewed by finding someplace cold.

Unfortunate. Rage has always been a mite confused.

. . . Really?

She looked around for some place that seemed cold.

Yes - it’s all this Chaos leaking from the timestream.

You know that, at the moment the Slumber was banished from the Flame, countless realities were formed?

She found one.

She sat down, starting to feel a little better.

W-wait, this is real? You're dying!?

Felicity… Rage is a very confused individual. He lived his entire life in devotion to one person…

And then that person disappeared. It drove him mad, and he became hateful. He was not always as he was.

Everything he does, he does it for her.

“But he shouldn’t have killed you!”

I’m afraid I am. Aelorin released the Slumber, and it found… me. A pest.

I fell into a pit of it in my youth, you know. Big ol’ crack in the ground. I think that’s why the Slumber went for me - I was already partially corrupted.

@Spark of Hope

If you thought killing someone would bring me back, would you?

Morality blurs when you consider the tragedy behind his life.

She didn’t answer, but her breath caught.

She stared at the ground.

How- how do we fix it?

Instead of talking further, Mirth just hugged her.

You don’t, I’m afraid. It’s a terrible bother - in fact, you were probably sent here to harvest some of the Slumber.

She closed her eyes, freezing the moment in her mind.

What? Why? How? Can- can we save you with it?

Without the Slumber, you can’t possibly overtake that Chaos that claimed the world.

I am afraid not. The Slumber… it can be tricky.

@Spark of Hope

Mirth continued.

“I miss you… so much…”

“I know, child.”

Her cloak, still discolored, was washed of the blood. Instead, small embroidered flowers took its place.

Keep this cloak with you. I have placed a little bit of myself within.

She looked at them and almost smiled, though her face couldn’t quite remember how to do so.

She sniffed. “Are you.. with Dad? And Ian?”

Mirth, once again, simply hugged her.

She sniffed. “I-I don’t know if I can sing or tell stories again. Not without you, and… and I was going to use it so me and Dad could get our own home, and know you’re both…”
