As if on cue, the king returned, and both girls brightened, making room for him between them. 

As he sat, he wrapped an arm around each of them and they leaned into him. Yora put her head on his chest and Cossie rubbed his arm. 

“Chase, I must say I am disappointed.”

”Leave.”

Chase grumbled to himself, but left the throne room. 

The king smiled once more after he did. “Well, my dear Zera thought highly of both of you. But she had a clear favorite and, who am I to deny her of her chosen husband. 

“Congratulations on your engagement, Taylor.”

Rex looks slightly sad for a moment before he shrugs. "Good luck with them, Zera and Taylor." He drops in a bow before the soon to be be prince, princess, and king.
