i was surfing through the mistborn forums looking for a poll like this, and i couldn’t find one. But if there is one, please let me know.

i, personally, really like A-iron by itself, because it’s essentially a grapple hook.

edit^1: y’all really like pewter. I mean i get it, but i would guess there would be some more people interested in the external emotional metals.

Definitely Slider or Smoker, Slider because, Oh no I'm running out of time? What ever will I do? * Burns Bendalloy * or just protection against soothing/rioting would be awesome too.

I'd prefer Pewter myself, making your body better in every way is just too good to pass up. Savantism will probably be inevitable for me but since I don't care to through myself into death matches, I really don't see that being an issue. Plus, pewter may burn fast but at least it's pretty cheap, so that balances out.

Although Bendalloy would be a close second, more time in the day would be great, especially if I just want to take a break but don't have time for it. With enough Bendalloy I could stretch out ten minutes to well over an hour. Or in conversations by giving myself time to think of responses. Really the possibilities are endless.

Personally, I really wouldn't want Steel or Iron by themselves, since they require a lot of practice and physic knowledge to make work without hurting or even killing yourself. And I'm not a big fan of heights either. And to be honest a lot of the Allomantic abilities by themselves in a day-to-day life are pretty meh, not bad but also not super life changing.

There's a WOB that implies Pewter is a lot more versatile than they currently realize, that it's activating an investiture fueled Mind-Over-Matter state that might allow bigger, more Retuned-like changes to their physical form.  If true and not otherwise limited in some unknown ways, that's likely to be the most versatile (almost certainly the best for an earth-bound Allomancer with no other powers out in the world, if that's the hypothetical scenario here).

But if that's true then it could also imply that the other Allomantic metals are equally broad and unexplored.  Perhaps Tin and/or Bronze can open more exotic senses with the proper Intent?

Questioner (paraphrased)

1. On a scale of 1 to 10, how similar are the processes of Command-Breaking a Lifeless and Unmaking?

2. Is there more going on behind the scenes when an Allomancer burns pewter? I suspect that the process triggers a "mind over matter" state, where the user's desires are made manifest, albeit in a limited way. If so, can a pewter burner alter their Physical appearance, similar to a Returned (provided they knew they could and had access to enough pewter)?

Brandon Sanderson (paraphrased)

1. 7 they are similar

2a. That is a valid theory. On the right track.

2b. Possible in theory

Honestly, I would be really happy with gold. The ability to see into other lives, other people I could have been, and to know what it is like to be them, would be really interesting. Pewter would be neat for enabling me to get back into working out and go insanely hard with it, but I would feel like I was cheating relative to other people. I would be so uncomfortable with having access to soothing or rioting. I have a terrible "manipulation as a defense mechanism" instinct, and so that power would become immensely tempting for all the wrong reasons.

To be honest, I would love to Steelpush becuase I could fly, shoot coins, steel is on the cheaper side, and troll. A lot
