Windborn_bolder Posted March 5, 2025 Posted March 5, 2025 In his interlude he says he has a great amount of investigator, not breath could he somehow hold onto storm light, causing him to reach higher heightening with less than the requisite breath but only get parts of the benefits like having nonverbal commands but not drain to White
Entr0pic He/him Posted March 5, 2025 Posted March 5, 2025 I assume you’re referring to his two interlude chapters in WaT? I’m not sure what the question is here, sorry.

I just wanted opinions on if vasher could reach tightening with non-breath investigator for instance he could have 8000 breaths and 42,000 BTUs of some other investor leading to him having “Tenth heightening” without 50000 breathes which could lead to only some of the heightening effects like not having Color Distortion or Perfect Invocation but having mental command Edited March 5, 2025 by Windborn_bolder 1

If you have an equivalent amount of BEU’s worth of investiture, you get the effects of a heightening non-related to awakening. For example if you had 50 BEU’s worth of investiture in a nicrosilmind, and you tapped that, you could get the effects of the 1st heightening for awhile. We see this with dawnshards, who have perfect pitch and color recognition, but no breaths. so yes, if you had a lot of stormlight, you could replicate the effects of a heightening. I’m not a realmatics expert though, so i would recommend looking at the coppermind or talking with a more experienced sharder for further clarification. Edited March 5, 2025 by Timiny further clarification. 2
Treamayne Posted March 6, 2025 Posted March 6, 2025 Welcome to the Shard. Please consider an Intro Post to let us know what you have or have-not read (whichever list is shorter). Also, please consider checking out the Sharder FAQ for some useful forum info and tips. 3 hours ago, Windborn_bolder said: In his interlude he says he has a great amount of investigator, not breath could he somehow hold onto storm light, causing him to reach higher heightening with less than the requisite breath but only get parts of the benefits like having nonverbal commands but not drain to White Please check spelling or autocorrect - both of your posts are not using the term Investiture correctly. Vasher has his supressed Divine Breath and some unknown amount of normal Breath (used on-screen sparring kaladin in RoW). His Divine Breath, like Nightblood, can consume any investiture to maintain itself, so he is not losing 1 Breath per week as he would on Nalthis because he uses Stormlight for that. However, in order to use Stormlight for Awakening, it would need to be converted to Breath first (or distilled into an Unkeyed form - which is what Iyatil's Ghostbloods have been trying to do). Stormlight is Kinetic Investiture when in use, and cannot be held long by Humans (due to the lack of a Gemheart), so while static in the body it provides some of the same increase in speed, strength and resiliance that Elantrians have with their Connection to the Dor. But it has not been shown to grant other heightenings at all. Heightenings are an effect of Static Investiture (which is why your Heightenings decrease when you make Breath active by Awakening). We don't know for sure which Heightenings are Nalthis Specific and which are universal. We see that Riino has some form of Lifesense in Oathbringer when he senses Kaladin without seeing him. We suspect that Elantrian Agelessness is similar to the Nalthian Fifth Heightening. However, we also know that on Nalthis, Heightenings affect visual and auditory senses, but Rysn also experiences changes to taste - so we suspect that affected senses are at least somewhat dependent on what form of investiture is held. It is likely that all of the Warbreaker higher Heightenings are specific to BioChromatic Breath - because they deal with how people interact with that Manifestation of Investiture (MoI) specifically. If ther are heighening-like effects above Agelessness with other forms of Investiture, we do not know what they may be. Hope that helps 2
