Zeta patrolled. Rain or shine, night or day. 

Speaking of rain…

She peered down the huge stone battlements down at the attacking force’s defenses. The Sigmas, they called themselves. They’d captured an officer or two (Alphas; the regular foot soldiers were the Betas), and through that she knew there was only one person behind this. 

Just thinking the name made her shiver. 

The rain coming down like a waterfall might have had a part to play in that. 

But it didn’t matter. 

Delta would be protected at all costs.

The next morning, Zeta, soaked and tired from her long shift, went and opened the gate inside the portcullis and waited for the delegation.

He launched his spear over the castle wall and out of sight, then got into a fighting stance.
