Hi have been reading the Wind and Truth in the Play books app and every chapter has the line Expand/ Collapse extended description at the start of it. Wondering if anyone else has encountered this and if I am missing text from the book? Hoping its just some digital bug

I get this too, only it says "a Stone arch with iconography including eyes and faces, cracks are beginning to show with rubble strewn beneath"

You do not appear to be missing any text that I can see from your screenshot. This is likely due to the Alt Text for images (which is part of the XML so that if the image cannot be displayed, the alt-text is displayed instead). The "description" can be simple or complex (depending on the publisher and the book - see my Frugal Wizard Post about the marginalia for that hidden story). For example:

Example 1 - Interlude 2:

<h2 class="CN" id="ch16"><a href="WaT_ToC.xhtml#c_ch16"><figure class="IMG_Hdr"><img class="Ch_Hdr" src="../images/WaT_I-02.gif" alt="I-2: The Divided God"/></figure></a></h2>

Example 2 - Folio: Takamas

Quote

<figure class="IMG_P">

      <img class="port" src="../images/Folio_Takama.jpg" alt="Folio: Takamas. Description: A caption in the lower left reads, “The traditional Alethi takama is depicted above. To the right is the modern style, currently popular for formal settings like weddings.” Two male models are rendered in glamorous detail. The traditional takama has an open-chested, light-colored jacket with wide, loose sleeves. The sleeve hem and the open edges at the chest have a dark-colored band along them. The traditional takama’s ankle-length, dark-colored skirt is held at the waist with a wide belt tied in a large knot, with the ends of the belt hanging down the front of the skirt. The model has his hair bound in a wide topknot, carries a spear, wears sandals, and bears a bedroll tied to his back with rough rope. The modern takama has a high-necked undershirt that retains the wide, loose sleeves of the traditional. On top of this shirt is a dark vest that crosses over the chest and hangs down below the hips, layering on top of a midtone skirt. The vest is tied with a more elaborate belt than the traditional one; it has light-colored edging and three angled stripes on the hanging ends of the belt. The model has a shorter haircut than the traditional model and has his dark hair combed back from his face. He wears sturdy boots."/>

Some ebook readers render this in a non-standard way (or have settings to turn that on and off).

Hope that helps
