ShaShery Posted February 3, 2025 Posted February 3, 2025 I hope this is the place for this topic. in Words of Radiance, When Shalan meets Ghostbloods for the first time, several objects are mentioned on the shelf. One of them is a tress of golden hair. In Tress of the Emerald Sea, it is said that there is a superstition that a tress of golden (Iriali) hair brings good luck. I thought there might be a connection Note: Sorry for my bad English. It is not my native language, and I partially use automatic translation.

I thought there might be a connection It is likely to be Iriali hair, but not necessarily because of Lumar. It could also be Royal Locks from Nalthis (this sems less likely). The Sharder FAQ has tips on searching the forums, as there are many threads on these topics, but you may like these two recent threads About the WoR Trophies and About the Iriali. Hope that helps. I'll read it, thanks. I thought it was from Lumar, because even though the Iriali are also in other worlds, this superstition is only mentioned in Lumar, no? 1

That's where we heard of the superstition. However, at this point the Iriali are not on Lumar because they have not yet left Roshar. WoBs: Spoiler Quote Argent The Iriali Long Trail, is it related to the Cosmere? Brandon Sanderson Yes. Argent And the Fourth Land, the Seventh Land, those... Brandon Sanderson These are definitely-- They are in the Cosmere. This is where you give me a lot of wiggling, because yes, it is related to the Cosmere. Words of Radiance Chicago signing (March 22, 2014) Quote Argent How many waves of human populations have migrated to Roshar? So I'm thinking the Ashynites coming from Ashyn, right? Was that just the only humans that ever came as a population? Brandon Sanderson It depends on if you count the Iriali? Argent That's specifically the one I'm thinking of. Brandon Sanderson They came in a separate migration. Argent Not from Ashyn? Brandon Sanderson Not from Ashyn. Argent From whatever the Third Land was. WoBs: חשוף תוכן מוסתר Just over a year ago, someone in Israel who was knowledgeable about Cosmere said that Tress could have happened before Stormlight Archive. He was probably wrong. BTW, I've seen the abbreviation WoB several times in connection with Sanderson's books. What is this abbreviation? 1

Like I consider where the Cosmere is right now in its main timeline to be right around the 10 to 15 year period that Stormlight and Wax and Wayne are happening. And that's where we are in the Cosmere right now. But this is taking place way in the future. Actually, all three Secret Projects are fairly future era Cosmere. Basically I'm just kind of building out- what's going on with some of these things is, I want the Cosmere to be pushing towards a Star Wars/Star Trek-esque large universe of planets where lots of interesting stories are happening. And that's the future of the Cosmere. And so as I'm reaching to build more stories, I'm reaching to stories on those planets. Secret Project #4 Reveal and Livestream (March 29, 2022) Even without the Word of Brandon, The fact that the Tress story is being told to people on First of the Sun (from Sixth of the Dusk), includes Awakened Computers, and has Riina using a method of using AonDor off of Sel all indicate that this story is Future Cosmere. 1
