This is a really quick one, just noting something. In the prologue to WoK, Szeth notes that the use of stormlight for illumination was profane. However, we learn in WaT that the shin monasteries use stormlight for illumination all the time.

Perhaps this is a case of stormlight only being used by the monasteries, and it is profane generally, but the shin don't use stormlight for anything else. So I'm very curious about this

Exactly, only one-who-subtracts or a Stone Shaman should walk on stone and use Stormlight. In the east everybody walks on stone and uses stormlight, but they are not Stone Shamans - so it is a profane use of light to his understanding of the Shin religion. 

Of course, much of it is info Brandon couldn't give too much detail that early, it would be confusing - so it's just tidbits of foreshadowing (and only as Szeth thinks about it or understands it - his perception of the Shin religion was shown to possibly be lacking because Un-Ishi had been hijacking and twisting it for a few hundred years.
