If I remember correctly, being insane makes one's mind open to Realmatic influence more, such as hearing the whisperings of Shards and Cognitive Shadows.

Would this significantly impact certain forms of Allomancy, perhaps in a beneficial way?

For example, let's say an Oracle Misting burned electrum while totally bonkers. Would they peer more deeply into the SR, maybe gain insight they normally wouldn't have?

What about Seekers? They listen to the Pulses of Investiture, so would their "hearing" become more acute?

If this does cause significant changes in Investiture use, Augers should be influence too. Maybe they'd be better at interacting with their gold-induced hallucinations?

It's more like Cracks in the Spiritual Ideal of a person can allow external entities to penentrate their Spiritual and Cognitive self more easily - and those cracks can sometimes manifest as Mental Illness in the Physical Realm (e. g. Vin's Mother being legitimately Schizophrenic, but it so happens one of the voices she was hearing was actualy Ruin. Those cracks open you to external investiture, but are unlikely to assist in the application of MoIs (as seen in Stormlight Archive)

i.e.  Not every "crack" manifests as Mental Illness; but, as far as we know, all (or nearly all) mental conditions manifest in the CR and PR as a crack in that individual.

I think it's more likely that the types of Electrum Shadows would be impacted, rather than the quality or timing (more seconds in the future).

Unlikely, since we saw on-screen that Zane was already Schizophenic even before he receive his spike - but his Seeking was no more powerful than normal - which is why he assumed Vin was using Duralumin to pierce Copperclouds.

Like Electrum, I htink their mental condition would affect the type of Gold Shadows presented, more than the ability to understand or interact with them.

Granted we have no evidence either way on Scadrial - but we do have evidence of Alternate Mental States not affecting the application of Investiture on other Shardworlds.
