boolamoo Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 At the end, when she realizes she's stuck and cradles her stomach, are we supposed to infer a pregnancy? Cause I sure did. 2
Green Hoodie Mistborn he/him Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 That was my understanding as well I can't wait to read the interaction with Shallan/Adolin through the Seon where that info bomb is dropped. I hope to Honor that Adolin gets to reunite with her sometime before the time skip of years... 1
Vanya Taneva Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 Do you think they will reunite after the start of the second book which will be in 10 years and Adolin will see the child then for the first time in person?
Green Hoodie Mistborn he/him Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 I hope not, I hope it's in a Novelette or something ramping us back into SA book 6 5
DiePie Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 Very cruel of Sanderson to put the (now) only perpendicularity in the system halfway across the planet

Judging by the epigraph to chapter 133, Jasnah recruited Szeth's wife less than 6 years after the Stormfall, so she must have finally mastered proper Elsecalling sometime during those years. Hoid's Seon should also be in Urithiru, given the precipitous nature of his... departure. So, Shallan should be able to contact them immediately after she acquires Ala. There is also Venli as an outside chance of transport between the realms, but she needs to learn how to do it too. Though, maybe that Husked One joined the listeners to provide some help with that, even though what they do is pretty different from normal Elsecalling. 2

It's noted that Hoid asked the Seon to flee the tower ahead of the Contest of Champions I don't know that Shallan has a way to directly contact Urithiru in the near/mid term outside of Jasnah mastering Elsecalling. Also Jasnah could have connected to Shinovar via re-empowered spanreeds, maybe. Either are possible. I think hte bigger issue of Elsecalling is that Jasnah's powers could/would fail outside of the Tower like other Radiants (noted in Adolin's final chapter) 1

And also, Lift can infuse spheres with her Lifelight, which surely will come into play. And you are right about Wit's Seon Olo, it left the Tower and was going to the Shattered Plains.

Aside from the Seons, Shallan and Adolin also have Maya, who can communicated telepathically with Adolin and even let him see through her eyes while in Shadesmar, as long as she's not too far from where he is. So they'll have some means of communication. 2
a Faceless Immortal he/him Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 I really want to see their child(ren?) and Oroden grow up together. If I have my timeline correct they will be 10 and 12 respectively by the time we get to the next book, which might make them a bit young to be plot relevant characters, but it would still be cool regardless. 3
Elwryan Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 I cant stop thinking about what kind of powers this baby is going to have. Considering it's likely going to be born in the cognative realm and partly gestated in the spiritual realm. On top of that, to a mother with an already increased connection to the spiritual realm. It's going to have at least radiant level powers from birth. 5

I think their kid is going to be very special and potentially pivotal in the next arc of the SA or future of the Cosmere. But I doubt they'll be that level of powerful from Birth? Maybe! But it'll be interesting to meet them and learn about them and Oroden and even Gavinor in the coming arcs. Poor Gavinor 1
Wendy McGee Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 I was looking for this post! Exactly what I thought!

Spren can apparently cross over at will now. The Unoathed Blade and Plate spren just decided to become physical. So did Notum. (Somewhere, Ishar is thinking, "Wait, now an Honorspren can just go to the Physical Realm, keep his mind, and affect physical objects? Did I waste all those years?") 4
