wickwick Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 In chapter 135, Nale’s spren says to 12124 Quote You have let yourself become an attendant to your human, an auxiliary to his will.” And then at the end of the book 12124 is riding off with Sigzil, and needing a new name. So, super obvious hint that this is Aux and he’ll bond Sigzil sometime between end of WaT and Sunlit Man? Pretty fun! 4
Kardenal_13 he/him Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 If you look at the numbers 1 = A 21 = U 24 = X so 12124 = Aux 7

Was hoping Nale’s spren (121) was something similarly fun, but looks like either AU (1-21), LA (12-1), or ABA (1-2-1). Unless I’m missing something (again ), not quite as fun?
drunkenbotanist Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 If the numbers were or were not on purpose, the name probably comes from "you become an auxiliary to his will"

Now I'm picturing Nale bonding the spren version of Kim Kardashian. 2

And earlier, Nale's highspren even took "12124" to task for being too chummy with his Radiant, after Szeth rejects his oaths right after reacing the Fifth Ideal (!!), saying "I release you from your bond" and that he would go seek out the "dissident" Skybreakers for a different highspren. Quote "No," his spren said, beginning to fade. "No, Szeth!" Nin's spren appeared nearby, and Szeth's spren reached out as if for help. The Herald's spren shook its head. "How fitting, 12124. This is what happens when you give them too much power. Learn your lesson here, if you are ever allowed to speak oaths again. You have let yourself become an attendant to your human, an auxiliary to his will." "Is that..." the shrinking spren said. "Is that so bad?" Since we see Sig as having Plate (if Invested enough) in TSM, and he broke his bonds with Vienta without having reached the Fourth Ideal of the Windrunners, I guess he gets to the Skybreakers' 4+ Ideal with Aux before nearly burning him out?
