Welcome to the Shard!

Many find that Twok is a bit difficult to get into because of the length and the complexity of issues being addressed. I'd recommend to stick with it, the climax of the book is amazing! Finding a book hard to read isn't a bad thing, just sign that you're growing!

I had a bit of trouble with it at first, too, especially since it was my first Cosmere book. The number of characters, the shifts in location and point of view, plus the originality of the Roshar setting and its position in the greater Cosmere setting all made it kind of hard to get into.

I think it's worthwhile and I hope you stick with it. I thought that Words of Radiance was pretty easy to read in comparison.

When I decided to take up The Way of Kings back in June I thought it would be overwhelming. Everyone says this book is outstanding and so I am passionate to try to dip my feet directly into Roshar instead taking heed for the "lighter" Cosmere novels. The scarce availability in my region also pressed me to get a copy, because as far as I know restocking usually take months. It was a bit daring decision as I've never read any book more than half its length (excluding Lord of the Rings if you consider the parts whole).

But my gloomy expectations were unfounded. Many people said the first half of The Way of Kings is too slow, but I don't think it is. I just read, like 20-30 pages a day on average and I never gripped away. Maybe it was my OCD that driven me to the finish line. This is my second fantasy read after Lord of the Rings and I have no issues except linking all the interconnected information, lore, and plot. I wrote an index and underlined more important paragraphs. I am a slow reader who don't like missing out information. Today I've read 62 pages in the Words of Radiance then indexed the chapter and the details. Five hours, and my head still hurts as I'm writing this.

If you use other platforms other than physical copy then I can understand your difficulties. I can't enjoy the experience without my notes and scrutiny.
